I have tried testing out disabling item cache and testing with GT metrix but I didn't see any difference in speed on my site.
its not about speed, its about cache mechanism of the browser, gt metrix not caching in their browser, they fetch for the 1st time each time, users though re visit sites and for them this issue matter, there you see performance impact
