  • Pethol UNA right out the box is a complete solution. No need to be a developer. Very simple to use and Studio is your toolbox to make whatever changes necessary that you wish. If you do not understand how to do something, you need to read, ask, and learn. You cannot expect any software from any developer to be exactly what you want right out the box....unless of course you have paid them to do custom development, which in this case you didn't. Same holds true about your home or purchasing a vehicle. Unless you designed it and paid money to builder to build it exactly as you want, you will not have the color walls you want nor the type of flooring or fixtures that you want. Why? Because you bought a house that was available on the market. UNA is that house and now you need to customize it for your needs or pay someone to do the changes for you. There is nothing wrong with UNA nor the way it is advertised. It is stated correctly that it is a framework and can be used to build niche networks. One must learn to use resources or monies to personalize it for their exact needs.

Hang in there and read and learn. It will come together for you and will begin to understand it. We're all here to help each other.

    • I agree with Jeremy, I wonder if you do not esteem yourself a little. You take the example of the hammer and the frame, so say that UNA is a toolbox in which you will find the hammer, but not only, many other tools, you can hang a frame, but also the curtains and well 'other stuff. But I assure you most users are not coders. Now, as Jeremy says, if you want something that is very specific, unless you get a custom job done by a team of developers, it will never match 100% of your expectations. Una does not know how to do everything, that's also why it's complemented by the app market. which will complete with time. Also, pre-configurations will simplify life, yes, very good thing. but if again, to take your example from the toolbox, even if it contains a lot, it will never contain all the tools that allow you to do all the work possible in a house. Sometimes you have to order a tool that you do not have in the box.
Take care, in case of emergency, we have doctor Cem here :-)

      • Baloo :)))
yes for medical questions if anyone has, I will try to answer. but it is always better to visit a doctor :)
Pethol as a medical doctor not an IT professional I built my community portal in a few months of hard learning work.
In the meanwhile even though I asked some nonsense questions UNA team and friends here always helped me.
Before starting UNA I checked many candidates including HumHub, but no at the end ı selected 2 frameworks UNA and Dolphin :) At thaty time I didnt know that they are both from boonex :)
When you learn it once it is a wonderful framework, so it is not only hammer but many tools to built your custom home as mentioned.
By the way I solved the conditional form fields problem. Maybe you already did it is a simple thing for developers, and for nonprofessionals to do outside of UNA, but to integrate it with UNA was a little difficult for me. There are easy solutions possible if you research a bit the codes, because UNA is a well structured software.
If it is needed for any one I can post here after getting an ok from UNA team not to make laugh the community at me 😂 😂 😂
(To show or hide fieldsets in forms based on the user selection of the previous fields).

        • Once I fall in love with something, I don't leave it behind easily and UNA I want as my future wife.
But this struggle has also taught me some things I had to ponder over and the result was to change policies of 4 hospitals. Now some of the staff there is pissed off, but having toddlers of employees run around a play in the hospitals is not a good idea. So now we are building little care-centers for the kids of the employees. Credit to UNA. She's a good woman.
I'm sure I will learn it all. At least I am able to control a good part of it already.
This morning the fever went down. Not gone, but better. My wife brought my baby Capuchin who is clinging to daddy like there is no tomorrow.
