Login / Join

So with Facebook, you are able to see there main join or login page. As you see at the bottom of the login, you can see that you can create a page right from the login or even join as a page. In our situation, we have organizations. Why or how do we add this to our login page, so that members can join as a organization rather then a personal profile, like on Facebook. You should be able to have profiles and organization that our not tied to a profile, unless the profile owner is hidden from the Page or organization like on Facebook. This prevents profile owners who have created a page or Organization from spam, hate mail, un-needed communication, that should be directed to a organization. Organizations should also have there own set of rules that allow others to join it as authorized members of that organization, for reasons of managing and moderation.

    • I believe you can have it so you join as an organization and also in Studio disable the person option

      • So, from what I've seen here, you can set it up so that after creating the account, members can choose the type of profile, or you can choose the type yourself and specify it as an admin.

        Just look at how other communities do things. if everything were the same here, nobody would use another page and could go straight to Facebook because it's the same there.

        I don't think this option is so bad as it is in Una, since the members and organizer profiles can be treated independently.

        What would be interesting here would be e.g. Couple Profiles for couples or simply offering a premium profile in the same way as with organizations instead of the premium membership.

        Or a pure seller profile, only geared towards sales.

        • Ya I think I have tried that. but it ties the profile that I can see to the Organization, to where you are seen as the owner. It shouldn't be that way unless you elect to make yourself known that you are the owner. It also does not allow others to become members with rights to operation of the Organization, of course approved by original creator.

          • But what I could observe in the last year here is the following:

            Anyone who registers on the sites must first create an account and then a profile.

            This is where it starts to get complicated for many users, because the account and profile creation are divided into 2 different steps.

            On other sites you normally only create a profile and then you are registered.

            Here you create the account and many users often do not understand that they then have to create a profiler!

            But you could compensate for this by offering the registration steps like a tour, or combining the account and profile creation with profile selection in one step and one popup!

            That's why I said before that you should make many steps easier here..

            The same applies to settings and administration.

            there should be a page where you can manage all settings or management of friends followers profile visitors and the content of your own modules!!

            Creating a separate page for everything may be clear to some, but not many.

            • I agree with you. We have done it this way. Right after the user has created an account he or she is lead directly to create profile page.

              • Ya I now currently have it setup to where you create the account, which then takes you to the two options (Profile or Organization). The problem with this though is you create the account first... If you do this using your personal email or such, and then get asked to create the organization, you now have to use the email used or profile or account name used. UNLESS you know that you can later change the email in the account settings, but your still stuck with the account name used of course.

                Personally I think it should ask first what it is you are creating... Then you apply the needed info according to the type of account your setting up.

                This is why my original statement from the beginning applies better in this situation.

                • Hello @Discover Me 360 (DM3) !

                  The easiest way to drive your new users to create the organization profile - the disable Create Person's profile action in the Studio->Permissions->Account->Persons area. In this case, the new user will get the access denied on the page create-persons-profile page. If you don't want to have the variant for this page on the account-profile-switcher area then you may add a new RAW block via the Studio->Pages->System->My Profiles area with the following content:

                  <style>

                  .bx-menu-floating-blocks-big .text-gray-600 {

                  display: none;

                  }

                  </style>

                  And make it visible only for the Account level.

                  • Hi all

                    I want to share my experience with the registration system.

                    I manage 2 professional social networks. Both register people looking for job opportunities and companies looking for staff.

                    Therefore, for these networks it is extremely necessary that people can choose how to register (Person or Organization) and accordingly complete a different registration form.

                    This is how it works today (video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RnJQ3klgXcm3wp9VQ_ax560rNoi-E1mj/view?usp=sharing).

                    However, the numbers show me that there is a problem with the registration system, since a very significant % only create the account and do not complete any profile (Person or Organization). More than 34% in both networks.

                    image_transcoder.php?o=sys_images_editor&h=659&dpx=1&t=1661717118

                    image_transcoder.php?o=sys_images_editor&h=660&dpx=1&t=1661717134

                    ------

                    image_transcoder.php?o=sys_images_editor&h=661&dpx=1&t=1661717153

                    image_transcoder.php?o=sys_images_editor&h=662&dpx=1&t=1661717168Personally, the procedure is easy for me, but obviously something happens that makes many people not complete the profile and leave, which is obviously bad for my business.

                    At first I thought this was happening due to people's lack of attention, but today, with more than 34% of people not completing the registration, I wonder if the problem is the system.

                    What I propose, I think it is the same that other people propose here, is to unify in a single form the request for data to create the account and choose the type of profile (Person or Organization).

                    I believe that this does not alter the work logic of UNA and the worst that could happen is that the person, after completing this first form, does not complete the second form (Person or Organization), which would leave an account the same as today no profile, but honestly I think the chances of this happening would decrease considerably.

                    Regards.

                    • I still believe it should be in the initial registration. Another words. Even though we are not trying to build sites similar to other Social networks, there are things that have been done that just work. There's no other way around it.

                      For instance... There's a reason Facebook asks you this right off the bat. Because it works... There are just ways that should be similar. Its because it works, its easy and doesn't confuse the user. Sometimes there is simply put, a certain technique that works. It has nothing to do with whether another site does it a certain way.

                      Whether your creating a Profile or an Organization? It should be the first thing you choose. And then it continue on to that particular registration.

                      • Hi @Discover Me 360 (DM3)

                        I think the same. I guess it has to do with usability, if it's easy, it works.

                        I am not clear on the reasons why UNA could not work like this, perhaps @LeonidS or another member of the team can comment on this.

                        Regards
