Need help understanding how to work with Events (Editing event, managing event and viewing in calendar)

Hi All,

I am working on events and I notice that firstly the event that has been created doesn't show up in my calendar, or if it does in context, I can only see one item in the entire month/week/year. Next, I am undable to add a block, form or navigation items to edit the created event in context, or on the events management page. I am not quite sure what I am missing and your help will be deeply appreciated.
