I have noticed this new feature after the upgrade to 10.0.0. However, i'm curious about it's setup. I know or can assume obviously what's it for other then stating users relationship. So my question would be, how can it be configured cause i can't locate anywhere on the site to configure/set up.
Ok, so i went to developer and did see what you mentioned above, checked person to person. My template posted on the profile tool, different location from yours, perhaps it's the template, but anyways thanks bro!!
Ok, so far what i have observed is that if user A sends a request to user B, user B does not receive any notification. Also in studio > navigation > profile stats there are two of each as shown in screen shot relationship and screenshot profile stats2. Next post will be a different config, which disables/removes relationship in the profile block.
1. All profile based apps (Persons and Organizations) add their links in this menu. But only one pair is shown at a time, even if all of them are active in the builder. The same situations we have with friends.
2. Looks like you have Person profile. So, if you disabled the links add with Persons app then they disappered. Links added with Organizations app are visible when you have Organization profile.
Relationships as feature isn't a mutual connection. In this case it's more close to Following feature. It means that relationship created by "User A" to "User B" isn't equal to relationship created by "User B" to "User A".
For example, I want to list my relationships in my profile. I marked you as 'Brother', you should confirm that I'm your brother. In this case you'll be listed in Relationships block in my profile. In the same time you don't want to show your Relationships in your profile and won't espablish the same connection from your end. In this case Relationships on your profile will be empty. 'Relationships with Me' block shows relationships which were established by others and you may Reject or Confirm them there. Generally, the page from this screenshot is needed for profile owner to manage his own relationships and Relationships which he was mentioned in.
I'm looking at UNA for a site and am interested in the Relationship aspect as this suits my site as it is for a family community.
Is it ok/easy to pre-create Releationships for users? I've been looking at the database tables relating to Relationships and it seems only a single table contains the Relationship data and it seems straight forward in prepopulating. I was thinking of a cron job that periodically populates the table with data from another source (say once a day).
Also how easy would it be to write a module that drives the Relationship part of the system so it derives its data from another source as oppose to the users having to create the relationships themselves or preload the table (as I'm thinking). The module would have more advanced Relationship functions. For instance so one user could lookup their relationship to another user or expanding the Privacy System (e.g. access to Immediate Family only)?
Where do I find the checkbox setting? I just need relationships for something like students and teachers. A teacher can have a relationship with their student and share private tutoring videos and tutorials without being their friend.
