Thank you, everyone! Really excited about upcoming improvements. UNA is getting faster, more stable and more prominent too. A few government and enterprise-level projects adopting it, and we plan a whole lot of improvements in the next few months - better mobile apps, learning modules and live streaming features, UX improvements, etc. Good times! Amazing to have your support - we couldn't do you without our community! Thank you!
https://una.io/m/messenger/archive/185060 - @kingoba we used Big Blue Button for an earlier webcast - it is excellent for a learning management solution, but not ideal for general live streaming. We may include it in our LMS solution, but we will likely have another service (without all the other features of BB) for people who want just live streaming capability for whatever reason.
@Mark Purser Thank you. We are using BBB for our LMS for schools. It would be amazing if it's included within UNA as part of the classes mod
@Mark Purser how about integrating Zoom or Webex to UNA, is it technically possible to invite a member on a UNA site to a Zoom or WebEx meeting?
Hi @UMIT OZAYDIN - it would be unlikely for us to integrate Zoom or Webex as Jitsi is doing the same thing. Both of those solutions require 3rd party software installation & paid subscription, which we generally try to avoid for UNA subscribers - free & open source is our preference.
That said I do know that Zoom have a robust API, so it is certainly possible to intergrate it within UNA. The standard integration is usually to be able to schedule a meeting directly from a module - eg. within Classes your would schedule a class and an option for the class would be to schedule it as a Zoom meeting - this would then enable you to set a date, invite members and send notifications. The same functionality is also available within Jitsi - so I'd imagine it would be our preference to create this capability there.
Hi @Mark Purser thank you for your answer. Cisco and Zoom have an option to invite live simultaneous interpreters to a session and then you can have multiple audio streams on one Zoom / WebEx. I do no tthink Jitsi supports such a functionality.
Well we could certainly integrate Zoom, but it is unlikely that we would do so as our own initiative, it would require someone willing to sponsor that development.
Thanks Mark - if this becomes a business case for us, I will let you know.
