I'm representing an NPO and members pay for their yearly subscription (paid levels mod). I find that new payment option very useful for situations, when our paying members want to share something of value to non-paying community visitors, as you said, Andrew, for events or courses & classes. So, my paying members need to have the option to decide what content they would like to sell. For events it will be a one-time payment only for non-paying members, in our case. What about our provision from paid content for generating money on the community platform? 😉 I recall that there exists a mod for provisions, right? Cheers, thomlin
Just tried it on online.me. My question: will the Pay & Join system be able to distinguish between community members on a yearly subscrption plan (who will not have to pay extra) and standard users (who will have to pay for joining a group, event, etc.)? I am still a little confused...
@thomlin it's important to note that group based subscription (run by group admin) and site subscription (run by site admin) are quite different and independent subscriptions
For paid contents/media, we would probably await aqb module which existed on dolphin and perhaps there's plan for paid contents via file module, hopefully, we can have these in nearest future, we'll see 😎
@OneEagle 3) there is already ability to set comissions fee or rate for exchaning real money to credits, which we beleave is more universal 4) It maybe it's already possible if you use payment provider such as Chargee or Stripe
Hi Alex, Thanks a lot but... 3) I am not talking about the commission fee or rate for exchaning real money to credits. Instead, I am talking about the comission on payment received (processed), a kind of processing fee like on fiverr, paypal etc. Example: 4.5% on every successful transation joining a paid group. What about if a smart user decided to trick the system and instead of withdrawing his money (exchaning real money to credits or vice-versa), he buys a membership or another service on the site using his balance, then the UNA site will lose (will not receive) that commission fee on joining a paid group. Hope it makes sense now. Thanks. 4) What about free trial using paypal?
3) yes, it's possible, but it will be on your site anyway and other vendor will have to pay comission to withdraw the money
4) I think it isn't possible for now, @Anton L could you please clarify ?
Hello. 4) The old integration of PayPal doesn't allow to pay by subscription. PayPal API integration supports single time and subscription payments but the possibility to use Trial period wasn't integrated.
