If anyone still had any doubts - check this out. Aussie legislators told Facebook they must negotiate commissions with local news sources, so Facebook threw a tantrum and banned us from sharing Australian news altogether. So, for example, on Facebook I can’t tell you that we are being gagged here 🤷♂️
The Big Brother 2.0 is not the government. Politicians come and go, they are merely puppets trying to make the most of their short career highs. The new world order is orchestrated by Big Tech and we must fight. ✊

Unfortunately for many people and even entire communities Facebook = Internet. I’ve listened to a call on the radio last morning - a lady from small Australian town was devastated because she operates a local newspaper which reaches out to their community via Facebook and now they’re cut off - the town effectively has no other means to connect, all events, meetings and messages are coordinated via local Facebook group, few read the hard copy of the newspaper and emergency alerts are also sent by the newspaper office. They now talk about switching back to email rotation. It’s downright ridiculous.
We decided to reach out to Australian news agencies and government officials with a proposal to build a “national social network”, much like we have a “national broadband network”, which is an essential service and must be available to all Australians regardless of whether someone like Mark Zuckerberg decides that he doesn’t have enough billions and cuts us off the news sharing.
This story says it all. This is why I am developing Canada2.com - to bring a platform to Canadian communities where they aren't being watched and censored. Thank You for that confirmation and your vision.

Andrew Boon, I just heard about Australia being silenced and came here immediately. I'm sure you're working on a solution for Australia, but wanted to share... the Patriot movement in the US had to switch to Gab.com to be able to communicate freely. Everyone and every news article or meme that disagrees with 'the media' and 'social media' giants, are being silenced and threatened. But everyone is able to speak freely on Gab.
Australians (and Everyone else, from anywhere) can use Gab to talk to the rest of the world, share articles and concerns... Facebook is attacking globally, Gab is helping us fight back.

Mark Zuckerberg and his Facebook crew's problem is their thought process. A platform was developed that people thought was cool so they used it. It grew. It's nothing more than convenience. Facebook is not a public mediator or a publishing dictatorship, or any representative sworn into a legal office. It's strictly a web app that offers convenience. I am perfectly fine with resorting back to using email and calling people from my phone. Remember those days when we actually cared enough to call our loved ones? Now...everyone just "send them a message on facebook".

This garbage is the exact reason I went searching for ways to create my own community for family and friends, which lead me UNA. I am very much looking forward to getting to know the platform!
