Family Filter Suggestion

I am trying to think of the best way to say this. I have seen social networks do this.

Nobody wants their family site to be ruined by mature content. Other networks allow members to mark their profiles or posts as mature so people don't have to see it unless they turn on or off the family filter. I would suggest a family filter so people can share anything they want like free speech blogging without offending anyone.

The filter would be turned on by default and the entire filter can be removed in studio for the site owners who don't want it or have no need for it. I think this would be useful for people who want to run large networks and still keep it work safe. All it takes is one person to upload one offensive photo to disturb a social network, especially if that photo appears on the front page in the outline and a teenager sees it while on a school's computer. I think Tumblr does something like this.

    • Really a very good suggestion, I'm a fan of this idea and I think it would be useful to 95% of us. This idea could avoid passing a site in pre-moderation mode, especially since it does not exist in una :-)

      • Yes I support this control because people can be "funny" and cause a lot of turn-offs or uproar. We should have in place all it takes to have safe content if we must run a public homepage.

Users can be responsible for what appears anywhere on their personal account but the general homepage is our responsibility especially where there is no pre-moderation of content.

        • Yes, very good idea indeed. Added to the pipeline - https://github.com/unaio/una/issues/1430
