Live Stream

One of the major developments that is still missing to be a competative Social Platform is Live Streaming. Facebook and plenty of other apps feature this. It is an excellent way for users to communicate with friends, groups etc. Any plans on this becomming a mod yet? It has great potential if also integrated with a gifting system.

    • Indeed we need live-video streaming. It's planned for v10, as there are quite a few considerations to take into account. Video streaming requires RTMS (real-time media server) like Wowza or Red5Pro running in the backend and it may require significant "buffer" in your server processing capacity. Generally smaller sites rely on remote service like Wowza Cloud, which is likely to be the first option we'll be offering, as running own RTMS immediately pushes running costs up to at least $200/mo per site, even at smaller scale.
