Open full post from Outline

Once a member adds a post to the timeline and it displays in the "Feed", how can someone open it back up so you can get the direct URL to it? I have some members asking how they can share posts on websites other than FB and Twitter. 

If you click on the notification from the post, you can see the URL that way like this: https://www.mywebsite.com/page.php?i=item&id=590

But there is no way to open the full post again once it's in the Outline feed. Any help on how to make this happen or another way of getting the full URL to the post?

    • Hi Chris, I do not quite understand what you mean, in this case it's just an "element" of the feed, in a way this url isolates the element. What else do you want like url?

      For sharing, you have several options if your members have an account on these 4 main social networks.

      For other sites, it depends if they use for example embed.ly the possibilities are almost endless .... and they can share everything that is public from your site, as I do below:

      • OK. I will explain better. Looking at the UNA homepage and Andrew's post that you used as an example:

        There is NO WAY to open that timeline post from there and view it in a full page. What I am looking for is a way to OPEN that up so I can get the full URL directly to that post like you pasted above: https://unacms.com/page.php?i=item&id=3660

         

        If I could find a way to get the full URL, then members could post the URL anywhere they wanted. Does that make better sense?

         

        • By ACCIDENT I found that you can click the date or timestamp and it will open up the post in a full window.. Funny how that doesn't 'Look' like a link.
