Spaces Not Notifying On Site

I am curious to know if anyone else is having this issue. I have a created a Space on my site. Member has requested to join and I received an email "Request to join your space". I logged into the site but have no notifications or any sign of someone wanting to join. I then go to the Space since I received the email, but still no notification exists. I click on Members and then it finally shows the request in which I can Accept or X. 

Seems like either something is wrong or this needs to be worked on and made to display notification for it preferably on the Member profile Icon.
