Problem with diacritics

Hello awesome people of UNA! I started  a project with UNA and it's in my native language: Romanian. I tried making my onw module by following the wiki on how to do it, but it didn't work. Now I just translated the whole front with Polyglot with just the English language, but if I use diacritics of my language on the front, it won't show nothing but an exclamation sign (?). Another problem is that when I post from timeline with diacritics, the post will not be posted, like it never happened. Please help!

  • Hello Stan, changing the English language is a very bad idea, because one day or another you will lose all your work. The only good way to do it right now is to create your own module by scrupulously following this wiki https://github.com/unaio/una/wiki/Creating-new-language-module

    • No no we went through the same route and had problems later.  As Baloo said go to the full module translation route.

      • The problem with going with the module is I can't manage to get it working, if someone could create it for me, it will mean a great deal. It has to be for the Romanian language.

        • It maybe you have incorrect DB collation, all text fields in all tables must be `utf8mb4_unicode_ci` if you have different collation then it maybe problems like you described.

          • Thank you, I did what you suggested and it worked.
