Friends management on smartphones

This is a question that comes up often, how to delete / accept a friend? The reason is that on small screens the options are hidden and ask to move to the right to see them.
So, I was wondering if you could not hide the central column with the number of friends so that we could see the action column without scrolling to the right, because this is not intuitive
