I don't know a lot about licensing... but if UNA.IO script becomes successful is there a risk of being bought out... like how Mysql was bought out ?  Refer to this article  The Story Behind Acquisition of ‘MySQL’ by Sun Microsystem and the Rise of ‘MariaDB’

And if so... could there be an off-shoot of (I think it's call a fork) of UNA ?

    • Look what happened to socialengine when it was acquired by room214, refer here https://www.socialengine.com/about

Now sociaengine offers two soltuions:  socialenigne php and SocialEngine Unite (I believe this product is on their cloud system).  And from this comment made by socialengine recently:

"Great news for SocialEngine PHP users! SocialEngine has recently announced to not only continue with PHP version but also updating and developing it. SocialEngine PHP platform will get updated with bug fixes and feature requests."

The above quote suggests there may have been talk about terminating the continued development of socialengine php.  Or am I wrong to assume this?

I am going to take a big leap to say that one of socialengine's decision to continue development of socialengine php could be due to the risk of losing their socialegine php license holder to new competition such as the UNA Platform.

What are your thoughts on this?  Am I way off track to make this assumption?
