Your opinions about UNA 10

Ive got lots of issues, but given the task as you say .....

1. All profiles have lost thier background PIC and the profile pic is very large.
2. In POST all of the buttons are in Russian 
3. Relationships button or clicking on any of those buttons nake the above profile just up 
4. Timeline / and who sees your posts still isnt work, all can see everything

The photo and the cover bigger of course it's a matter of taste, I have a lot. You can reduce this pretty easily if you do not like it. For buttons in Russian, do you mean that you see them in Russian while you are in English, or do you use another language? Also, I advise you to check if this is checked.

I've tried three attempts to update. Each one goes fine but I lose my index page, shows 500 error and I have display errors set in ini. Every page except the home page works for me, I've even removed timeline module thinking it was that because that happened in the past.

I tried to edit the homepage blocks too after the upgrade but I cannot even select "settings" for the homepage in the pages module, all others are editable.

So I guess I need to wait and not even try the beta anymore. 

Michael - I get 500 errors on the website too until the modules get updated. The site may update to UNA 10 just fine but, it will break the site IF the modules do not get updated. You may want to make sure your modules are updated to latest versions.. Might want to clear all the cache afterwards too.  

I did all that, the main error with the upgrade is with the Protean template when I tried to upgrade the module it says more than 7% has changed and would NOT install, that is the template I use.

The second attempt I switched to the Ocean template and deleted the Protean after backing up my site Mixes. That allowed the install to happen after the site upgraded. This was after updating all the other modules that had upgrades. Still no home page and it is not editable in Studio.

Later on, I may attempt it but the process seems much longer in the past and the site is used too much. 

I'll put my site in maintenance mode now and warn users I'm about to upgrade the site, as I have that module.

If you modified over 5%, you may need to do this as well:

Another option if more than 5% of files are modified is to overwrite any changes you've made in source code, then you need to change the following line in inc/classes/BxDolInstallerUtils.phpfile:

define('BX_FORCE_AUTOUPDATE_MAX_CHANGED_FILES_PERCENT', 0.05);

to:

define('BX_FORCE_AUTOUPDATE_MAX_CHANGED_FILES_PERCENT', 1.00);

Then try to upgrade UNA or modules as usual.

I'll do this step but I may again wait for the stable version.

Right now I'm cleaning the site, removing unused modules I used before. Switching to the Ocean template if that all fails then I'll wait for the full version, no beta.

Update went well, all seems working but get a warning on top of each page

When I upgrade and the site it shows no errors anywhere, this is my results when I do the beta upgrade. The home/index page will not show and you can see the error.

Better to Check all php modules, like gd or zip for the update it's needed a different set of php modules.

This would cause only the index page to not work for signed in members.

Those php modules are there.

What are you using for PHP script execution mode?

CGI wrapper (run as virtual server owner) 

or

FCGId (run as virtual server owner) 

I've run all my sites in the latter mode.

I've switched to CGI and will now attempt this one last time. 

(you know the saying, I'll have one last drink.) If that is the case today, I'll be shit faced for sure later.

Have to admit this is the best part about working with Boonex and UNA, we go balls to the wall when they release a beta, even though I've run a site for four years I still want the "newest now."

I would have to say also that due to the size of this update, the impact has been somewhat minimal. I have upgraded 2 site with the beta. One that isn't used much and another that is somewhat active since my members agreed to "bear with me" during this upgrade. 

There were a few hiccups during the upgrade but overall, it was pretty good. Since I successfully upgraded my sites, I thought it would be nice to try and help others who are having issues. I have even upgraded someone's site for them. We are here to help and support each other and I will try my best. Just hope that someone returns the favor when I need them 😉 

i dont know if anyone noticed but the developer module is not updating, all others do except this one, the update wont install...weired.

why would it not update with the rest of the other module then ?

I come back here on this subject, to say that in the end there were still no dramatic bugs and that we approach the stable with b2 and that 10 is still very good job!
