RESOLVED - If 'https' is selected for own domain custom manual SSL setup is required

Resolved: Ignore the "If 'https' is selected..." message Cloud auto generates the SSL cert for you. It also appears the redirect from http to https is also happening. Thanks to whomever fixed it. :)

Update: http doesn't work either. The domain when pinged shows the UNA Cloud IP, but it seems like something is not being properly set by the automation when switching from una domain to personal domain.

------

Not the most helpful of info messages becuase it doesn't say how to perform the "manual SSL setup".

I'm on Cloud, so how do I get SSL working?

    • UNA Cloud has SSL by default and it is not necessary to configure anything additional.

Probably the problem is that the subdomain for the chat has not been created in your registrar.

      • Alfonso Fuertes I'm not using Rocketchat, so why would I need to create the domain for it? Also, why does it say you need to configure SSL manually on the setup form (see screenshot added to original post)?

        • OK, adding a legit subdomain got me a little further, but some weird redirect is happening. When I type in the new domain it's redirecting to the Una subdomain first which throws the warning below. If I go to "Advanced" and ignore the warning, then it takes me to the new domain, but I don't want this to happen for anyone that uses the site.

          • Gritly was able to help me. Although I think it was setup correctly beforehand, but since I was typing my site name into Google Chrome without https it was getting the warning shown above.

@ Una Team (Andrew Boon), is it possible on the Cloud server for you to setup a redirect from http to https when you have https enabled? That way a user who only types in mydomain.com into Google Chrome will have http://mydomain.com redirected to https://mydomain.com.

            • I also do not use Rocket.Chat on my site but it must be configured anyway. I read it from a moderator and since I did it the redirect works correctly.

It is also important that the subdomain of the chat leads to the same IP as the domain.

Regarding the SSL, I do not know why it says that it must be configured manually. I did not do it and still the page redirects correctly to https.
