Problem 'Following' Events without Joining

I have made a Test Event and it seems that I cannot 'Follow' the event unless I am 'Going'. There is often a scenario where a person will want to receive updates about a 'Event' but may not know if they are (un)able to attend. Does anyone know if there is a setting maybe I have missed that needs to be enabled, or is this a feature lacking from the Events module? 


My view prior to 'Going':

Within my Studio > Navigation settings I have 'Follow' enabled, but it is not seen unless after 'Going.'

    • Hello James, the reason if i'm not mistaken, is because it gives the user the option of not to go. If you click on it you will see that it switches back to going. Just because it says not going, doesn't mean that the user is not going, it just gives user the option to going or not going.

          Will Monte If that's the case then maybe it would make more sense to have the wording reversed?

          Change the following:

          Going = Follow
          Not Going = Unfollow
          Not Interested = Not Going
          And just now I noticed that after clicking 'Not interested' the button goes blank and will not reverse. I'm going to check my settings in navigation now again, but this view is as an admin.

          Do you know if the actual Follow command that will send notifications regarding updates to the event comes from the current Going/Not Going buttons, or from the Interested/Not Interested button?

          • I just tested and it's going or not going.

            • The Events Module enables you to plan and manage Events and Schedules within your UNA site. Features include;

              • Calendar 
              • Maps integration
              • Repeat event function - Set Intervals based on Days/Weeks/Months or Years
              • Reminders 
              •  Set timezone for the event start/end date/time, but it will be displayed in user's local time

              Along with the features of all UNA Group based modules;

              • List of joined members
              • Timeline/Posts and Discussions within the events
              • Join confirmationInvitations
              • Group messaging
              • Special privacies, such as closed and secret event

              Now you can plan any type of event and manage them directly within your UNA community.

              • The problem is that people cant just say they are interested tab unless they select 'Going" first, then the tab appears.  Interested (or follow) tab does not appear unless you click 'Going'
