How to change method of Location Entry?
The scenario I am working with is if someone is eating at a restaurant and wants to post a picture of food and mark their location as the restaurant, by business name. Or, if the picture was previously taken and the member wants to make a post at a later date and is trying to tag the location of the restaurant.
Is it possible to change the location from this sliding only with auto-detection, to a manual entry?
Are there some settings I could change on how location is determined that would effect this?
After making the original post, and going to edit, it will allow a manual entry (no worries, not my address pictured):
After selecting any other location, and trying to update the edited post, it gives me this error message "Cannot perform action.":

I think your best bet is to look into this app https://una.io/page/view-product?id=214
-
Will Monte that's a drag-n-drop map for profiles, doesn't do anything for posts.
They also have a Locations Map module, which has interesting features that could work with showing a map of where posts were made, but still does not allow a person to type in a location.
AQB Soft does the Locations Map module allow members to filter the map as needed? For example, the map shows all posts, events, profiles, orgs, etc and a member wants to filter the map to only show events... is that a current capability? Or is the filter set by the Admin and that is all members can see? -
I really don't know...i been wanting to purchase one of AQB Soft maps, but have not had the chance to look into any of them to see which best fits me. I know someone here in UNA had purchased one and spoke very highly of the one map app they have, but don't remember who. I have to look around here and see where i saw it...

Here is a link to all of the Locations modules in the market... maybe seeing the names will jog your memory.

It does that but the module isnt very accurate. I have posts that register in the Atlantic ocean :(

AQB Soft can you please advice here

James Cherry Yes, sure it offers filters switches. Check the screenshots of the module in action, notice the filters on the right side.

Gritly The Locations Map module is not geocoding anything by itself, it just shows a map of all Locations available by taking them from database. In UNA 9 there was a glitch with Location fields' precision - it was rounding the longitude/latitude pairs by dropping the fractional parts. That may be the reason of having locations in an ocean. The problem was fixed in UNA 10 and thus the problem should not happen anymore.

We are going to examine the possibility to extend the Profile Location module's functionality to other sections where a Location field can be found if that is what people are willing to have instead of a default Location field.

Replace Google is better!

AQB Soft I saw the screenshots but wanted to confirm if that was a member point of view, or if that was the admin controls?
-
James Cherry That is a users' side. The admin's backend is shown here:
