Important! Saving profiles + profile picture
I am currently experiencing two problems with completion of profiles. We do not realize the problem with a short form, but if it is longer ...
1. My profile is made up of 31 fields, 13 of which are mandatory. Ok. I get regular messages that say "I complete my profile but the system does not save". Of course there is no question of a bug here, but each time the reason is the same. The form is long enough, you complete it and you click on the "save" button ok. What is happening at this moment?
a) All required fields are filled in correctly, you are redirected to the profile.
b) At least one field is incorrectly filled, you are redirected to the top of the form, far from the "save" button below which the error message appears, so you do not see the problem.
In both cases, there is no clear indication that the operation was successful or not.
2. The profile picture - It's a bit of the same problem. I see avatars that disappear, and when I go to see, I see that the avatar that must replace the first is yet present, simply, the profile has not been saved. Again there is no indication that this needs to be done, the save button is far at the bottom of the form, so it does not suggest that it should be done.
However, it is not necessary to save the profile for deletion, I think it should not be necessary to save a new avatar either. It is downloaded it is effective.
I do not know what is the right solution to fix that.
For problem # 1 one way or another it would take a clear and unmistakable focus on the outcome of the save, ok or no. I have to be sure he's done or not.
I have already spoken about this problem in the past, I assure you that it is one in practice.

- Maybe there needs to be a floating alert, toast notification, or popup dialog for forms with many fields? https://uxplanet.org/toast-notification-or-dialog-box-ae32ad53106d
- Yes, I think the avatar should autosave after upload.
- I have also noticed that when a image that is too big is uploaded the error message is not descriptive of the problem.

Yes, that's something like that would be good, something you can not miss.

Agree on outosave after upload. If the user needs to change they can change anytime, plus there’s an opportunity to review during cropping.
As for the form, not sure about toast or sticky button, but perhaps an alert that says “you have unsaved changes” when someone is closing the page, plus autoscroll tomthenfirst validation error?

Yes I think that's how it is, you can be sure that I will jump to the ceiling the day it will be effective :-) Thank you.
