Misleading User Names Allowed

I am seeing user names allowed that are very misleading.  For example, "Administrator" and "Senior Developer", that misleads members of the community that they are talking to officials of Boonex and UNA instead of just other members.  I fell into that confusion myself when I saw user "Senior Developer" thinking that it was in fact, the senior developer of UNA.  Now I see a user "Administrator" that I doubt is an admin of the UNA community here due to the content of the recent post they made.

    • Easy way to solve this would if una software had a usernames blacklist it would help everyone making there networks also.

      • A blacklist might be helpful but it would actually need to use a regex to check for such things as admin in Admin-istrator.  Also, human interaction is helpful; just checking new joins for user name on a site will work.  Although I know that if you are a busy site and get a few hundred sign-ups a week, it is time wasted for a moderator to shift through the new member joins.

        • Indeed on Dolphin I had a mod made by eSASe (it does not rejuvenate us) that contained a list of prohibited words.

              • For instance - a person name Administrator ask a user to send their site credentials in a private message so they can "help" resolve a problem.  Problem?

                  • indeed there is a app to stop messages like this but we need a better system to deal with our users the one we have has flaws and we need to fix it one feature at a time till its just right

                      • Just noticed an account "tester" not saying anything bad about the user, but account name can trick one here to provide personal data of their own site. When will this be resolved before something major occurs?

                          • Many of us thought the username had to match our installs username

I assure you it’s more of an inexperienced/ confusing process than it is trying to fool members For whatever nefarious reasons one would do this

Oh, so you have no issue with your user name being changed so that we don't think you are an admin of UNA.io?

                              • Even if some usernames are restricted it's still possible to counterfeit it by using similar character of other languages and/or some symbols.

So, to solve this problems we will add badges in next major update, so site admin will be able to give  badges to special users to  make them look different from oters even if username look similar.
