Timezone in Events - an idea

Currently if you want to publish events in just one place, no problem; however, if you want to publish events around the world, the Timezone selection can be a headache. I would rather not have the Timezone option at all... so if the Event is at 4:00 p.m. in Dakar, everyone would know the event is at 4:00 p.m. local time.

If we definitely need to have the Timezone option, here is a suggestion:

When creating an Event, you select a country, and that country already has a UTC time offset, for example Kyrgyzstan is UTC+06:00

So, once you select a Country for the event, the Timezone field can be filled automatically (you could change it if needed). Example below.

Country: Kyrgyzstan

Timezone: UTC +06:00

So basically, use UTC time offset instead of Continent/City
