Tim Burleigh posted about page load speed for his site and it gave me the idea to run the analysis on mine also. I downloaded the full report to see their recommendations for speed. My page is photo and content heavy and still loads fully in 9 seconds. A bit slow but I know it would be a little slower than others with the photos. However, the GTMetrix analysis has some suggestions for improvement.
I have attached the full analysis pdf here and would welcome a method to implement some of the suggestions from GTMetrix. Please take a look and advise as I think this may be helpful for others. Thank you.
I took a look at the report and noticed that Scroll to Top was taking about 2.9 seconds to load so I disabled it and then went into cpanel and switched from php 5.6 to 7.2 and retested. Got 4.3 seconds fully loaded. Still some issues regarding compression per the second report which is attached.
I checked Tim's site it's very fast actually. The perceived load of the site is 3-4 seconds.
These tests like you did or Tim did measure the full reload of the site without using the cache mechanisms, this may be normal 10 seconds as there are many connections besides Una core like cookie consent script etc. and these also take time.
But in normal usage as I see Una is using cache mechanisms to make things faster and it works.
You may test the difference with F5 (full reload) and by clicking the site logo which will use the cache mechanisms.
