To recreate a peaceful Una environment

Hi Una team and members,

In the last weeks I am observing here an ever increasing aggressive negative propaganda about Una and Una team.

This really corrupts the peaceful and  respectful environment here.

Geek girl seems like trying to give services to Una customer base. There is nothing wrong with this but,

while marketing her service instead of explaining what good things she can do she prefers a method of continuously giving (baseless) negative feedback about Una products and Una team.

Older users are not influenced, but for new comers it's being very effective.

This is unethical if not no dignity.

This continuous negative propaganda and usage of unpolite language is really irritating, boring, demotivating.

So i request from Una team to stop this permanently or give us an option to block these people so that they may chat in between them without disturbing the community.

As we decided to use UNA for our valuable projects, it means that we are in the same UNA ship and need to help the ship staff to continue the voyage.

      It is indeed very unfortunate that it came to the point that we have to take action. Generally we welcome critique and often allow for some degree of “passionate expression“, but in this case it seems like we simply have to agree to disagree, and then establish boundaries. I could go into a long tirade of why I believe we are not in the wrong, but that‘s been done a number of times now, to no avail. 

      Now, I’d like to quote a section from our Terms:

      No Hate Speech

Any generalizations about these topics should be phrased as neutrally as possible.

      No Harassment and Bullying
      Abusive behaviour directed towards private individuals and organisations is not allowed. That includes UNA employees and the company in general. Repeated and unwanted contact constitutes a form of harassment. There is no minimum service guarantee with UNA.IO - it is a free space where announcements can be made, guidance given and questions raised. If your questions are not being answer quickly enough, you will need to consider direct support, which is available with paid UNA Pro and Cloud subscriptions.

      Discussion around the use of UNA applications is welcomed, but if you are dissatisfied with a product or outcome, please avoid denigrating the UNA team in your remarks, we are all looking for constructive outcomes, and personal attacks will not be tolerated.

      Be Positive and Purposeful in Your Communications

      People are using this platform to ask and answer questions about the development of their UNA websites. If you have a meaningful question requiring an answer, please ask! If you feel like you can answer a question in a way that has value, please answer! But in your questions and answers please avoid the use of sarcasm or misleading information, bear in mind that many people using this platform have English as a 2nd language - so sarcasm could be misconstrued and misleading information can cause significant umbrage to others.

      Unfortunately, even after repeated warnings we have a user who actively violated the above terms multiple times. This is taking away from our valuable time which we could use to support users and develop the platform. Furthermore, as a self-funded, private business we can not afford to expose our clients to negative opinion posted regularly on our own network. I have offered to discuss these issues privately and have discussed them publicly multiple times now, bit since the disparaging comments still get posted, we now have to limit the user account indefinitely or until we reach an alternative agreement.

        • WOW, removing post that speak the truth, but allowing others who feel lonely and act like a little child by calling out others in a public discussion just shows how bias and unprofessional this UNA staff are, good one!

          • And for the record we did try to reach out and have a private talk, but were ignored again by UNA team. Not only that, but the invitation to discuss in private was removed. Man Up!

            • Will, I ask you to please review the terms I quoted in the comment above. I have tolerated this berating long enough. It doesn’t help anyone whatsoever. it hurts our business, discourages our clients, distracts from development.

              The OP is written in a clear and respectful way, which is the only way that will be tolerated here.

                • You removing my comments when i say that allowing others to create a discussion calling out others in your community and allowing this one is going to create a huge problem. You should add in your terms that users can not create separate discussions calling out others is not acceptable.

                    Wr are using Discussions - and it’s OK to discuss things, bring up issues and concerns, share opinion, even complain, but it absolutely has to be done in a professional and respectful manner. It really is important. Different people have different idead about tone intensity - what may sound casual and just mildly brazen for one can sound horribly offensive to another. We should all try and elevate or conversational tone to the highest standard. It’s that simple. Even a critical argument is heard loud and clear when it’s expressed with respect to the audience.

You've been here long enough, I think, and it all went well, remember. You should think about how long this change has taken and what event has occurred. Cem has said everything about it and he has done well because it has been exasperating me too. So, I think everyone would like to find the Will still cordial as he was before. Nothing more. This should be possible if you stop being influenced by Miss "I do everything better than everyone".

                                • I am looking forward to restoring accounts and closing these discussions for good. Just need to make sure are in agreement about keeping this place professional.

I have no personal problems with anyone and have made good contacts with people on here so the points I will make are not personal attacks but rather what I believe should make this discussion and site progressive. 

                                    All services regarding Boonex, Dolphin, or UNA products should be ran and discussed by Boonex and monitored for effectiveness and stability especially if it is their brand. Coming into these discussions to market a service while talking down on competitors should not be tolerated. Comments and reviews should be left in the Marketplace. As a community it is our responsibility to help people in these discussions and problems that can't be solved should be brought to the developers attention as constructive criticism so they can fix bugs etc in future updates. Outing specific people even if you have the grounds to and everyone is in an agreed consensus should be done in private in a complaint to the developers. Doing it in public can cause bigger rifts in the community. People may take sides and eventually it becomes a toxic environment. Last of all many of us have been with UNA and/or Dolphin from the beginning and have invested money and time into this for OUR benefit and to shape and make it grow. Negatively that affects the growth of UNA and the community affects us all as we have a stake in making UNA grow not stunt it. Please respect UNA, the developers, and the community. There is a proper time and place to express grievances and certain outlets have been provided. No more division and impatience please!

                                          • I love this post, and completely agree (of course).
                                            Life is short and I never understood people who chose to spend their time making a sour environment. I have no clue how many hours the devs hade spent making UNA, but I know for sure that we`re talking thousands of hours.
                                            To those complaining:
                                            Does anyone actually think that they`ve invested so many hours and suffered through immense amounts of headache (all projects comes with a massive amount of headache) into a project without having a genuine wish to make it the best system possible?
                                            I know for a fact that they are working theis asses off to service all of us in the best way possible, and they deserve a community who recognizes their massive investments, trouble solving skills and continous efforts to further develop this great system!

                                            • By the way MS Windows never had any bugs or problems during decades of development right? Yet people purchased their products and made it work for them or they left. I look at it this way, and I have had problems getting a app to work, if you are dissatisfied.... write your own code. By the way MS decades ago charged $40/hr for support on software that you paid for. No telling what it is now, but i bet it's a lot more than what UNA charges. So how much did you pay for UNA's core products? What was the cost of your last version update? If you having a hosting account was it free? If self-hosting was the server and the internet provider service free?

                                              I am like most people when it comes to dishing out the dough...tight,very tight, but you should be looking at value. Again if you purchased MS products you surely did not get free ongoing support. It has been my experience, the short time I have using UNA's platform, they are willing to help you successfully build you site without requiring you to give credit card information up front for hourly billing. All this is value that is hard to find now-days.
