Can you talk a bit about the "Wiki" module by giving some examples of use? Is it something like Wikipedia?

Wiki is a completely system feature and a module in UNA and by far the one with most potential. There will be more modules made around the system wiki tooling, too. AlexT Is writing a manual now, so we will be posting more details about it, but in a nutshell it’s a way to create any type of structured resource repositories with collaborative editing and versioning. It also has its own URL composition, outside of the usual UNA  /page... model  

For example, you can create things like:

• HELP section with URLs like domain/help/xyz with user tips, FAQs, tutorials, etc. Media can be embedded  from other site modules using Macros.
• DOCS section for a product documentation with collaboration tools.
• LIBRARY for educational projects pulling together links, texts, attachments, etc.
• NOTEBOOKS for personal free form note taking. 

Each one warrants a post of its own. So only in short for now:

Credits - your own on-site currency, which can be bought or sold, can be used as payment method in Market or for paid levels.

Badges - special visual identifiers assigned by Admins. Can be used to give “verified” status or as “insignia“ of sorts that isn’t tied to membership levels.

Audit - admin-side actions tracker for reviewing what actions each member has performed.

Wiki - collaborative page and content publishing with Macros.

Will it have docs, sheets, tasks, etc. like notion?

There will be the ability to create custom templates/styles for different requirements, similar to Notion. These templates/styles will be exportable and shareable, perhaps could be sold via Market. FYI we are still coming up with a name for Wiki templates/styles as both templates & styles are already used, any suggestions Mr Wordsmith?

Yes, that’s what Macros are for - embedding content from other modules - like say video, posts, files, etc. And as we develop more modules you’d be able to embed tasks, charts, etc. Variations of the Wiki will offer predefined structures, much like Notion templates.

Credits is just a currency medium essentially. Points is about rewarding activity   They can be used together - buy/sell points for credits may be a good idea to decouple points from actual money to protect from fraudulent withdrawals In cases when Points are accrued through some unexpected spam technique.

You can use credits to directly mimic real currency - $ € £.... and run it as a way to simplify checkout on micropayments, or as a way to collect commissions from community vendors (By buying back credits from them at reduced rate). 

All coming with v11. Already in GitHub and can be tested on ci.una.io. We will be packaging the first beta later this week for next week release. 

Can be used anywhere. You can insert a post into a discussion, or a poll into a post, or profile into a page block.

Is the 'business' directory still in the works for UNA 11 ?

The Wiki is designed as a framework that could accomplish this. Alternatively you could use the Ads Module (which is a directory) for this purpose.

Thanks for the reply Mark.  I have yet to look into the Wiki and the Ads Module. 

(To be sure we're on the same page... when I refer to a business directory I am referring something like Yellow Pages, Yelp and not a classifieds ad such as Craigslist)  

Would either of the Wiki or Ads module allow for. 

1) creation of numerous business listing plans, e.g. Bronze, Silver and Gold plans

2) each business to have limited features, e.g. 

Bronze Plan - number of tags  to be limited to: 5, Categories limit: 1

Silver Plan - number of tags to be limited to: 10, Categories limit: 2

Gold Plan - number of tags to be limited to:  15, Categories limit: 5

Other features to allow or limit on each business listing:  

- Featured  (ad displayed more prominently , allow for  Logo, Link to business website, Title size (character limit), Phone:, Fax:, Address, Zip code, Map (e.g. openstreetmap), Hours, Email, Email to a friend, Print, Reviews (text), Ratings (stars), QR Code, Social Links

3)  each plan can time based, e.g. Set to expired in 30 days, 1 year, etc. 

4) automatic email or some sort of automatic notification of:   registration, listing ad approved by admin, notice of listing ad expiration in 30 day (or whatever # of days prior to expiration a notice will be sent, rejection notice, etc.

5) payments system set up so when payment is made, business listing is automatically set up to expire at the end of determined time (30 days or one year from payment date. 

6) Search feature to no only search for business base on: country, state/province and city identified but search searches:  title, and tags (I'm assuming searching body text is not advisable).  

7) ban IP addresses

8) ability for users to flag a business listing as:  fraudulent, etc,

There are so many other important features a Business Directory should have that I haven't listed.    I'm not sure I have the skills and/or time to build such a project.  

It would be great if UNA would have a Business Directory module... for this is something website owners can directly monetize on.  

Hi Simon - thanks for this list of specifications, it looks like a great solution. We don't have a turnkey solution that fits this spec - I'd say that what we do have most of that functionality already within existing modules.
Ads & Wiki module are both designed as skeleton modules, that along with other existing functions & modules, such as paid levels, payments, permissions, search, anti spam, reporting would become a robust business directory. This configuration would of course require some custom configuration, and perhaps a small amount of coding, but should be fairly readily achieved by one of our UNA developers or another develop you might find here. If you are interested in exploring further, please send me a PM and we can set up a meeting.

Alex T⚜️ How is the manual for Wiki and Macros coming?  I am very much looking forward to reading it.  I have installed Wiki on my site and think the potential is huge!  Thanks for all you do!

It's a bit postponed due to a lot of other tasks, for a while you can ask some particular questions about Wiki and Macros in Forum.
