Account level and cumulative payments

I wonder if there is not a problem here. Therefore...
1. The client made a first payment to me a few hours ago.
2. To thank him for a service rendered, I decide to offer him an additional 6 months and to do so, I execute a manual payment, which we can see below.

image_transcoder.php?o=bx_froala_image&h=3023&dpx=1&t=1582832427

Ok, but when I visit the member's profile, I see this

image_transcoder.php?o=bx_froala_image&h=3024&dpx=1&t=1582832505

So it seems that the manual payment came to overwrite the first payment made a few hours earlier. The expiration date corresponds to 1 payment only. The two payments are not combined. As I can see "start: 8 minutes ago" what happens to the first payment? Not clear...

    • Hello!

The same situation when making a payment to Una.
09/03/2020 - We paid the annual payment manually (12$), today it was done automatically (+12$=24$). The premium membershipship did not extend for one year.

        • Hello Baloo

As I see both payments (real and manual) were done in the same date 27.02.2020. The first one was processed and your client received Membership Level on 6 monthes. It's OK. The second payment was processed too, but you cannot see it in Expiration date of membership level because Mebership Levels in UNA are working via queue. User may pay any time he wants but the next membership level will start after the previous one expired only.

          • Hello

Could you please describe the situation in more detailes. What do you mean with paid 'annual payment manually'? The payment can be charged 'automatically' if you've subscribed. In this case you don't need to pay manually every year, because payment will be charged automatically via subscription.

            • Hello Anton, thanks for the clarification. Just a question, when you say I can't see him because he's in the queue, so that means the client can't see him either, is that it? But in this case, is it a good thing? For example the client sees that their level expires in a week, and in order not to have a cut, he makes a payment, then he returns to see the expiration date and if I understand correctly it has not changed. Isn't this a source of concern for him?

              • Hello Baloo.

What can I say... You are right, as always! :)
I'll ask Andrew Boon to take a look at this workflow.

                Thank you!

                • In most cases payments are automated and the client isn’t really meant to ”top up” midterm or stagger payments. Kind of like you can’t pay for more than one term of say Netflix in one go or while current term is active. In some cases correct approach may be to not allow staggered payments because webmasters may plan a pricing change, or allow term update when current term is pro-rated and cancelled if a new one is started, or perhaps a limited number of “units” of time can be purchased for each subscription. I am not particularly sure which is better and not very keen on creating a massive set of settings for all options, so I think we still need to discuss.
