UNA 11.0 Upgrade - HTTP ERROR 500
After upgrading and receiving a confirmation email, I cannot access my site due to HTTP ERROR 500. What next??

The 500 Internal Server error could be caused by an error during the execution of any policy within Edge or by an error on the target/backend server. The HTTP status code 500 is a generic error response. It means that the server encountered an unexpected condition that prevented it from fulfilling the request.

It's possible that you may not have updated all the modules after your upgrade. Make sure that all updates have been done and try again. HTTP 500 is a server error.

UNA help rectifying errors is really bad. You generally have to work this out on your own. It is their way of ensuring you pay for all modules.

Yep, from that URL, same result. I may just reinstall my site from scratch using 11.0 and start over since this is a test site and not in production. To assist others, it would be great to find the fix...I'm impatient

That is NOT true. You CAN NOT access the studio unless you are an Admin or Site Operator.. I just tested this myself with a standard user.

Well this is an open source solution and if I want to pay for support, there's certainly folks offering their services for a fee, which is the way it should be. I don't see any issues with that. We're all contributing to resolve/improve UNA as a community.

Lol, send me your site url and i'll access Admin in 10 seconds. There is a gaping hole is all una installations. Now I just need to remember how to resolve this issue

I was trying to focus on the 500 server error and asking the OP to try and access the Studio via direct link until you decided to jump and say that non-admins can access the studio.. You even said you can access anyone's website in 10 seconds (specifically challenged my own website) due to "gaping holes" in ALL UNA installs. So yeah, how about you focus on the 500 error too until you figure out how you can explain you can access anyone's website in 10 seconds. I'll hang in here.

I'm thinking you did a custom modification to set automatically all users to role 3, by default UNA adds all new users to role 1, so I think this issue does not affect to all UNA installations.

Hello Jethro !
Please specify - with what version UNA was working fine? Your error is strange because mb_internal_encoding is the standard PHP function since 4.0.6 and it was uses in UNA 10 too.

Hey Guys - After going to bed annoyed, my site is back up and running just fine. Nothing changed at my end, in fact, I just refreshed my opened browser and was able to access studio login page. Maybe there is some back end processing that's happening before the updates have completely migrated?
On a side note, I chuckle how my post evolved into a hacking conversation...

LeonidS - I was on 10 or 10.1....whatever was the publicly released version. I never installed any of the RC versions.

Thanks for the guidance...I updated my settings and activated for 7.1, 7.2 & 7.3 after my site came back online. All is still good to go!

Hey Jethro - Glad all is well now. I just noticed that you mentioned your site was unavailable after you received the confirmation email. Did you receive "both" confirmation emails regarding your site being upgraded successfully AND your modules upgraded successfully? Just wondering if maybe your cron job didnt kick off the module updates until a little while later.. Making you get that 500 error until they did upgraded?? Not sure but thinking out loud.

Да блин, я не настолько дебил, что бы вообще не разбираться. Я знаю версию, все уже проверял и настроил, делал все возможные манипуляции. Бред какой то, сложнее обновления я не встречал. Не обновляет. ничего не обнавляется. Я уже говорил, что на моем хостинге нет Крона, у меня виртуальный хостинг, Так мне и не обьяснили внятно, как обновить вручную и без крона! Так же я пробовал на локальном ПК на OpenServer, включал и настраивал крон, не обновляет.

День добрый, Andrew Ua !
Раз нет Крона, тогда Вам надо:
1) зайти в папку periodic и переименовать .htaccess файл там в 1.htaccess.
2) открыть через браузер URL Вашего Уна сайта/periodic/cron.php (например https://myexample.com/periodic/cron.php
Это обеспечит однократный запуск Крона.

не обновился
И на локалке и на хостинге не обновляется вручную... ничего не работает. Обьясните все шаги для ручного обнавления, с самого начала, как нужно обновить вручную если у меня ранняя версия. Все шаги которые нужно проделать?????? Я не понимаю. Нужно мне качать архив? Куда его щагружать, какой именно нужно архим скачать для обновления, как вручную запустить крон а точнее куда нужно сам крон добавлять ??

Для данного файла - да (если нет никакого сообщения об ошибке). Надо смотреть логи. Сообщите мне в Мессенджере доступы к УНА студии Вашего сайта и Контрольной панели Вашего сервера, где Уна установлена.

Hi Chris - Yes, I received 2 confirmation emails: Site successfully updated to 11.0 and then Module upgrade success email - each were received within a minute of each other.
