URL Previews
So I was just wondering if when you embed a url in a post isnt is suppose to give you a preview of the link? I thought it use to but Im not seeing it now. Anyway let me know if it can and how to set that up. Thanks.

with regard to the general semantic overlook of the thing, why is this necessary? if you want to know what a link is, you click it. if you dont like what your seeing when you click it, click the back button.

that being said, are you talking about a quicklook functionality like in iOS or similar? if so they should all do that by default on long press and hold of a link..
if its a request for a preview on hover, thats a java script type thing.. :) and i dont know how, but gander it uses some kind of http call and fancybox to generate the preview which would be stored in a temp file. or something similar

Well in Facebook when you put a link in a post it shows you a preview of the link so you get a visual on what the link goes to.

oh, now i know what you meant.
you can use iframely for that if you want to generate a media card inside of the post for a link.

By default it’s setup for embedly. So I should switch to iframely? I’ll check that out, thanks!

well that depends, i have no idea how embedly worked :) i assume they are very similar. iframely has a 2 week trial, and after that you can switch from your dev account to several tiers of paid accounts. 36/50/99/150 $ respectively. and each has different options. its a very nice service, i am using it for multiple websites.

Some links will preview and video links will even run on the page but new ones won't. Why is that? It is set for Embedly.

Did you upgrade your Embedly plan? Recently, the previous policy has been corrected, may be it is the reason.

Most of the links on my page won't show previews. Do I need to configure Embedly to allow this in UNA 12/13 ?

I'm configuring iframely now. I got an API code easily enough and now I need to see if there are other configurations besides pasting the API in settings
