Hide header & footer when not logged in

Has anyone found a way to hide the header and footer when the user is not logged in? I want a plain login screen with not footer, no tool bar, just the page, an introduction and a way to log in or register. I have found a way to disable the header and footer in the home page settings, but this then hides the tool bar and footer for people when they are logged in and of course I want this function to be available to them when logged in, but not available to guests, non registered and general trolls you see.

for the life of me i can't find a way to do this, surely there is a button to click to do this? or a module to install? or do i have to make a module to do this lol

    • I think you can make it completely transparent under studio then protean if you are using that?

      • Or use a splash page with the login and register in place.

        • They need an option to keep footer but hide header also

          • you see it annoys me that the menu is functionable when logged out, that the other menu items still work. The only way i can think of is to perhaps make a module that takes control of the header and footer viewability and make the module have options to completely hide the header & toolbar and footer for certain levels much like the other modules have. Then i could just make a smart looking, unfussy intro and simple login and life would be happy once more.

I am sure modezz could make something like header and footer visability control module and make lots of money from it on the storefront 'hint hint' @modzzz

            • Whenever I log off my site it brings me to the homepage telling me to log back in. Did you put a redirect link somewhere?

              • So I figured out almostly what I wanted as a solution to this problem by the way of 'Developer' that is available in the app market for free. Inside this app i chose 'sets' and then in the search box wrote 'toolbar' and up popped up the toolbar settings, i clicked on the main menu and altered the 'visible for' and set it so only logged in people can see it. and I went through the various bits on the header/toolbar that I wanted to disable the function for various levels. I can also do the same for footer.

This is a good little tool, now i can make a menu item say just for suspended people that gives them direction on what to do next and things like that.  I will have a play with it and see what else i can do to accidentally break my site from time to time.

I would have liked something similar to hide the header completely but i am unable to find this, perhaps something for boonex to look into lol. I hope this helps if anyone else wants to do something similar.
