    • Hello!

Sorry, I am not sure that I understand your question.

By default, one jitsi meet server can be used by many viewers and UNA site's.

      • I meant will Jitsi have the live streaming ability? Right now it's formatted for a host and multiple group video chats, but I thought you mentioned it would have the ability later in an update to have one host and hundreds of people being able to comment.

Jitsi right now = group video chats

New Jitsi add on option= Live streaming like YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook Live streaming

        • We can set up Jibri - but it would need to be done as a custom installation service, due to the configuration and server resources required it would not be able to be rolled into the default UNA Messenger version.

          • I cannot see what the difference is between Jitsi Jibri and Jitsi Meet setup. I tried to find videos but can't see a difference. Jitsi Meet is for video conference calling but I guess what I was looking for is a Jitsi Live stream thats like FB Live streaming or Meet Me or Twitch where there is one host and everyone is can comment in real time and perform other actions. I also noticed something called Jitsi Video Bridge that when put on a single server can support thousands of Jitsi Video conferences on a single website. I know what I want for my website as far as Jitsi goes but it seems frustrating due to lack of visual guides.

            • Hello Will,

Jistsi Meet is the video conferencing software. In order to live stream or to record a conference, the Jistsi team has created "jibri" that stands for "JItsi BRoadcasting Infrastructure" for that. "Jibri" has to be installed on an other server (or VM) and basically it will work as an invisible participant to your Jitsi conference. It will give the possibility to either record (and save the recording on your server, nextcloud, ...) or create a stream you can connect to a youtube live session for example.
The meet.jit.si example includes both the video conferencing and jibri (the "JItsi BRoadcasting Infrastructure") parts.

              • Would you be able to stream without having to connect to YouTube? I would like to have it where users can stream on their own profile pages

                • You will have to install your own rtmp server to receive the jibri stream.

                  • Hello!

By default, as described above, Jitsi Meet server allows only to create video conferences using defined Jitsi Meet server (you can change server in Messenger settings, by default it is free meet.jit.si server). If you like to have ability to stream and record videos you should install Jibri and connect it to your Jitsi Meet server, after that you will have in Messenger's Jitsi video popup two new options to record and stream videos like on image below.

So, both these functions depends on your Jitsi Meet server but not on the Messenger, we don't need to add anything specially for it to the Messenger.

About streaming: By default Jitsi can stream only to YouTube rtmp server, but we can modify it and make it to stream to any other rtmp server. If you have rtmp server which supports comments and views of thousands people we can do it, but in this case we should configure your Jitsi Meet and Jibri servers, but not Messenger module.
