Update App fro Zip File as Update Option is not Active
Hi
We have the NEWS module for AQB soft, there is an UPDATE to version 4. The APP Market does not give us the option to UPDATE. We can oply download the ZIP file.
Keys and Secrets are correctly set in the admin console.
How do we install the ZIP file as an UPDATE?

AQB Soft replied to me in chat saying to use the update process in market. That does not work as it does not show an update. Perhaps AQB can give us the update script and we can upload the files and run the script. The main module on my site is the Articles module and it is also not working and throwing db error. It is version 4.0.0 and 5.0.1 is available in market but not in update. Frustrating!

I do not see UPDATE scrips in the ZIP file. Hopefully AQB Soft will have them for us today.

Looks like you are using UNA 11 and therefore you cannot download the update using Studio -> Apps Market.
Apps Market in UNA allows to download update scripts depending on your UNA version and version of the app.
Articles: The latest available version for UNA 11 is 4.0.2. Versions 5.0.0 and 5.0.1 can be installed on UNA 12 only.
News: The latest available version for UNA 11 is 3.0.3. Version 4.0.0 can be installed on UNA 12 only.
Moreover you shouldn't install the updates compatible with UNA 12 only if you are using UNA 11. It may break your site.

The main feature on my site is the Articles mod where we have almost 1,000 dog related articles such as profiles, history, etc. Those are no longer accessible because I cannot update the module. 😠

We are using UNA 12 on a development server as we test UNA to get ready for version 12's production release. It will not let us update the APP.

Yesterday, I checked Molosser Dogs 's site and found out that the proble appears because of incorrectly registered license. It may happen if
1. the app was used on some old domain and wasn't reregistered when domain was changed.2. the app is used on more then one domain, while one license allows to use the app on one domain.
In case of point №1 you need to go to My Sites (https://una.io/page/my-sites) -> Licenses block and check the Domain (Key from Key&Secret pair) which the license is associated with. If it's different than your current Key (can be checked in Studio -> Settings -> General -> "UNA account key" setting), you need to use 'Reset' to reset the association. Then you need to go to your Studio -> Apps Market -> Purchases. You'll be asked to login to your UNA account, if you aren't logged in yet. After that the paid app (in this case it's Articles) should appear there, it means that the license was reregistered. And after that the updates for the app should be available in Updates subpage.

Thank you for that. The domain key for my first 8 purchases were different from the current one. I reset the apps keys and will report back.

Hi Molosser Dogs my "AQB Soft ??" was directed at AQB Soft we are testing UNA 12 on a development server to see what problems we will run into with the UPGRADE. AQB Soft are the only APPS that can not be UPGRADED on the development server and tested. I am looking for a solution from AQB Soft.
Based on all the previous new version updates from UNA it is best to test before moving into production. AQB Soft we need to test things before going live with them.

Note, UNA licensing mechanism wasn't created by AQB Soft ;)
But as I know if you want to test updates before go live you may install your test version in subfolder on the same domain. It will allow your test site to use the same license as live one.
From the other hand you may manually upload update scripts via FTP in modules/[vendor]/[module]/updates/ folder and then apply them via Studio -> Apps Market.

The News Module does not contain UPDATE scripts.
There is no way to test this module meaning we will be playing Russian roulette moving over to a new version of UNA.
AQB Soft would you be able to provide the UPDATE scripts?
I just downloaded your module again (for the 3rd time, thus "news-3.zip"), here is what it looks like unzipped:
FTP to the licensed server does not include an UPDATE script either.

Hello. All released update scripts are available for manual downloading on this site -> product page -> Download subpage. You are welcome to download and install them manually. If you have the license for the app you should have the access to the Download subpage.

1. news folder doesn't have updates subfolder because you didn't update it yet. The folder is automatically created when UNA -> Studio -> Market Apps downloads the first update. You are welcome to create it manually. :)
2. Also you are welcome to download the latest update script from this site -> News -> Downloads (https://una.io/page/download-product?id=37) and install it manually. You should have access to the Downloading section because you've purchased the app.
So, as I see you have everything you need to update the app on you DEV site. What exactly should we do from our end. The only thing we can do it to update the app on your DEV site for you and we would be glad to do it, if you provide us with the access info. -
1. In UNA 11, there is no way to download the update. In UNA 12 on development server, there is no way to download the update.
2. Nope, it does not work. If I download your News 4.0.0 APP and install it, the app deletes all the old NEWS. Thus I can not test the install process.
* There is no UPDATE scripts provided with the ZIP file.
So there is no way to test this app.

1. Open News page -> Downloads subpage and take a look at the right top corner of the 'Download Product' block.
2. You should see a button with dotts. Click it please.
3. You'll see a popup with 'Show More' link. Click it please.
4. You'll see the following.
5. In Updates section find a box with 3.0.3 to 4.0.0 and click with 'Download' button. Accept downloading.
6. Unzip 'news_update_3.0.3_4.0.0.zip' archive and upload 'update_3.0.3_4.0.0' folder in modules/aqb/news/updates/ folder via FTP. If you don't have updates folder in modules/aqb/news/ one you need to create it. It can be done with any FTP client.
7. Go to Studio -> Apps Market -> Downloads and scroll to the bottom. You should see the update for News if you have the correct version of UNA and News app.
