Issues with messenger after moving to new server

Hello,

After moving my jot server for messenger to a new ubuntu server in the same environment that is running without errors on port 5443 but without an ssl, the messenger will allow you to send a message to someone but the other side has to refresh their browser to get the message. Any ideas what would be causing this?

      One thing I forgot to mention is that when it was working the jot server and the messenger client had different public ip`s and now they are sharing one. Also as of now I`m running it with a self signed ssl cert and still the same result.
