  • #Spaces module is the most capable of all context-modules since it supports sub-spaces. We generally recommend it for structuring websites by some predefined pattern, like regions, schools, specialities, etc. Say, if you are creating a network for a country, you could use Spaces to generate contexts for States and Towns. Spaces can be private, public and secret.

    #Groups are more generic. People have certain preconceptions about how Groups work and that makes them useful for allowing standard members create ad-hoc groups without any predefined hierarchy. Groups can not have subgroups. So, people can just add a group like "Proud Bikies" or "We all love pizza" and use it as they will. Groups can be private, public and secret.

    #Channels are different. They are auto-generated from hashtags and labels. You can pre-create labels for various modules to suggest associations and steer the community towards certain topics. Channels can be followed, but can't be joined. They are always public. Unique feature is that you can associate content items with multiple channels, while you can only post them to one Group or Space, because Groups and Spaces privacy settings define content visibility, making it impossible to post to multiple without complex cross-checking.

    #Events are like Groups, but they have start/end date, calendar and different actions terminology (attend instead of join, etc).Β

    #Organisaitons are also a context module, like #People, but they can be "joined" by multiple trusted users. Unlike Groups, they can be used as IDs/Personas on the site. Orgs are meant for companies, institutions, etc., so that in case one member of an Organisation leaves, other members can take over the profile and continue using it. For example, here at UNA.IO I have a personal profile (Andrew Boon) and I can also switch to UNA Inc organisation profile to post some official content. Other team memebrs also have their personal profiles and they too can switch to UNA Inc and post under that ID.Β

    • Anything related to kids can be tricky - it has to be done with parental controls and reporting to comply with various codes. We did a few setups for schools.

      Yes, you can create a network of UNA-powered sites using UNA Connect module for single-sign-on.

      • Great article and good responses. I'll just add one thing. If you look at the engagement on fb groups, WhatsApp groups, groupme or whatever giant tech network you'll understand that the people in these groups are still not connecting ... they're an audience to a few broadcasters. Analogy. Regardless of which room you're in, you are still in the house. In this case the tech house of fb etc. I have actually tried to connect with my target audience on these mediums and boy it's not easy. Its like trying to talk to someone at a noisy party. At some point you kindly ask if they want to step outside and you grab some beers on the way out, find a rock somewhere and chat. Meaningful connection. Β ... I can go on but I'll cut it short. Β For me UNA is a careful experiment to see if people want to connect when they don't have to guess friend or foe beforehand. Β It's a beautiful thing when you just simply start talking to people you have a lot in common with.... for me UNA allows people to create and find their tribe.Β

        I must say UNA isn't the only one doing this... but it is the only platform of this complexity of tech that gives you the power to own what you create. Everything else is hosted masked versions of a monopoly... e.g if some don't know. Ning, might networks( creators of ning), and a host of white label solutions. Una tech bests them and what you create is yours. Different use cases. UNA can run a hospital social network, or a school. So flexible. If my network doesn't work out for some reason. Β This framework can be used for so many other applications. Β Keep working guys. It takes a deep meaningful mission you truly believe in to sit behind those IDEs and work this hard for this long...Β

            • Yes, it's possible to do via the Studio->Storage app. Go to the Files area there, upload the video file, for example with the mp4 extension. Β After uploading you will get the record where the URL field will have the value like [your UNA's site URL]s/sys_files/t5ienvf7nejeggbsjqrxgk2fhfvpsrqe.mp4. Copy it and paste into the code like from this example https://www.w3schools.com/howto/howto_css_fullscreen_video.asp . Just replace there the src in this line to your own value:

              <source src="rain.mp4" type="video/mp4">

                  • Hello InPage !

                    You may use this solution https://www.w3schools.com/howto/howto_js_copy_clipboard.asp . Place the code of myFunction in the Studio->Designer->Injections and then create a new button via Studio->Nvaigation->the necessary module and place area. Write the myFunction(); call in the "onclick" field.Β

                    • I am copying my response here which I sent to Geldner couple days ago to also say Thank you !

                      Hey Geldner I was in your shoes once upon time, I decided to say goodbye to all the junk out there, and switch to UNA. I am an IT myself, I've tried them all, some of the junk out there including Wordpress brought down my dedicated server few times due to the viruses that come embedded in their plugins. I've had enough. Then I started using Dolphin which was great for a while, but UNA took Dolphin to another level. One of the greatest features I love about UNA is the fact I don't need to babysit my site anymore & keep updating the patches all the time. Now, I can focus on my business & get couple of high school volunteers to Admin my site. Every feature I wanted to have on my site, UNA already has it, not to mention the support I get on this Forum is great. So far I can't complain.. This was one of the best decisions I made.. My Hat's off to Boonex Team.. All the best !

                        • Thy, I remember there was some kind of countdown for dolphin. For my UNA needs this W3 school script works well. It is fully customizable via html/css.

                          My only open question to this is to avoid possible conflicts with the UNA scripts. But I'm sure I will have results to this during the next days...

                          Yes that is true.

                            • What up brother, this issue i have mentioned for years & years and nothing has been done, hopefully una will stop with upgrades and take care of this soon, speed is a huge factor in today's world. Me, i really don't care for speed, i'm old school, but in today's world people prefer speed. That is why emoji has become huge and will continue to grow more. Most humans rather click on a freaking icon to express their feelings, but if that's what they want then hopefully we shall give them that.

                              • Hi Norwayclub - Spaces Module allows for the Nesting of Groups so essentially Groups within Groups. We call them Spaces to differentiate, but other than the capability to 'nest' they have all the same features.

                                Some more details extracted from previous posts here;
