Hey team! I’m currently in India, working in a yoga ashram, so the vlog will come from Mark Purser instead. The RC11 should be ready any day now — we are making sure that all reported bugs are addressed.
Hello, UNA TEAM, I am testing courses on newly installed 12.0.1.Beta .. Couple of observations.
1. Media Insert option should help to browse the windows explorer /browser application to open the files and submit but that is not the case yet. it asks for copy paste links/ path. is that how the current design is?
2. I am getting database error when I edit and save a new course. Why? What am I missing?
I want to thank Antonio for helping me with all these requests in a timely manner. I am very pleased with his work and would definitely recommend him if you are looking to have your site competing with today's social media features. Thank you Antonio and I look forward to continue working with you and your team.
1. Increase text in posting & commenting.
2. Paste articles, videos, ect... directly into the feed with images and content showing.

Una team or una developers please add dating module, its essential and as i remember it was a key feature back in dolphin days....The person who register (or in edit profile) will have an option to check if he single or other relevant...
The reason why FB will be hard to stop is that many other social networks have let them steal their ideas with almost no effort. In order for a Social Network to compete with Facebook it would need a new innovative idea concept and then fiercely defend it from being stolen. I believe UNA has the potential to do this. They did it with Dolphin wich had an army of developers in the Marketplace and had new ideas that Facebook didn't have. Had Dolphin been faster with updating the site to fit mobile and apps we might have had a few UNA site contenders. My old website had over 35,000 members with ZERO advertising from all over the world. People flock to sites that have something NEW...but once Facebook steals the idea...well people go right back to Facebook. So we need a site that has everything Facebook has but pushes for new innovation ideas and stays ahead of what people are interested in. Dolphin was once light years ahead of Facebook but now UNA is far behind most sites with stuff like Livestreaming etc. With this new UNA team I do believe we can quickly catch up...the team needs to be open to new ideas and what's popular even if it's something they themselves aren't interested in. Maybe assign a couple members to be part of a research team that looks for new ideas and concepts.
Nice new module! Couldn't we use it as a team task module for Admins and Moderators for UNA communities, as well? Integrated just as Notes module? That would ease coordination of content creation by the community managers a lot!
Thank you so much UNA team for all your hard work. Many years ago I started with Dolphin, back in the Stone Age of Boonex. Before that, I had tried many of the other software products out there. From the very moment I stumbled onto Dolphin, I knew it was the answer to my dilemma. After looking around and reading on the Boonex website, I saw that there was an amazing team of people that shared the same passion. I was hooked.
To this day, the same people on that team are still here. Not only is this software THE BEST of its kind, The Team that we the users must communicate with are amazing. I've been in these parts for a very long time, and watched all of this evolve into what it is now, UNA. My biggest thing is my site being mobile friendly, and mobile smooth. UNA is that way beyond my expectations. Proud to be using UNA. Thank you so very much! :)
Thank you Una team! Really excited about the learning modules. Could you tell me how users can set up paid courses for other users? I only was able to find the way for the admin to set up courses for premium level users (just like in Groups)
Btw a very very, very huge update! Updated. Perfect. Thanks to UNA team!

Can anyone provide code that I can inject that will cause the menu icon to pulse? I would like to do this to draw attention to it so members can easily find other parts of the site. See attached screenshot. Menu icon circled.
Hello UNA Team,It would be nice to have a Description field in the Credit Bundles when adding or editing them. I have created a bundle with a discounted pricing (e.g. 100 Credits = $95 which is 5% Off + 10 Credits Free as a Bonus). I...

Good day, I have a question.Since I'm using Una 12 at the moment. And I know that una 13 is on it's way but I don't feel like upgrading to una 13 when it's out for this my particular site. Please, can the modules/apps still work on my...
I usually always update during alpha and beta to help test for bugs.
Do it on a separate install, make a backup of your production site, host it locally, upgrade and test on UNA 13, never, EVER upgrade a production site to an alpha build of anything.
UNA does need testers in order to advance the stages.
Read my previous statement.
My frustration isn't not knowing there will be bugs which is expected but the amount that accumulated in the second phase.
Patch one bug, 99 more pop up, that's the general gist when working in the programming field.
As phases advance there should be less bugs.
In the perfect world, yes, but that's not our reality. Take Windows for example, to this day, they are still patching out bugs on their "final" product. Be more reasonable with your expectations.
Also the templates should not be broken.
Yes, they should. As the core applications change, any third party addon, albeit added features, or custom templates, will need to change along with the product. World we live in today, not everything is just HTML and CSS these days.
But for us testers we need to let it be know what bugs are there, what's broken, how far broken etc.
Changelog would be nice, but this is not needed for testing purposes, ever heard of QA in development pipelines? This just screams entitlement, calm down.
Stable versions cannot exist until all the bugs are acknowledged and fixed.
Review my statement on the Windows product by Microsoft.
People need to know if it's certain modules, custom work, new bugs etc when something is wrong.
Then WE need to do our due diligence in testing, properly.
UNA needs more testers than just their team in order to release stable versions.
Point me in the direction where I or anyone else has stated otherwise.
When phases advance that create more bugs than the previous phase it does become a big issue.
You're over-exaggerating the issues here, review my "patch 1 bug, 99 more pop up" remark. It's nothing new and has been a "meme" in the programming industry since the dawn of time.
Also yes mod developers don't need to update their mods until stable version is released but they also need to know at what phase does their modules stop working etc.
No, they do not. UNA does not take responsibility for any third-party product, it is up to the respective devs of said product to maintain their own product to make sure it works. Only thing UNA is responsible for, is maintaining their own product.
Since these bugs also effect their mods they need to also pay close attention Since technically we are also letting the developers of the mods know when their mods fail.
Read my previous statement.
I don't want mod developers to assume their mods will all work on the stable version of 13 just because nobody spoke up to tell them that it failed at phase 1 or 2.
I'll repeat, "UNA does not take responsibility for any third-party product, it is up to the respective devs of said product to maintain their own product to make sure it works. Only thing UNA is responsible for, is maintaining their own product."

My frustration isn't not knowing there will be bugs which is expected but the amount that accumulated in the second phase. As phases advance there should be less bugs. Also the templates should not be broken. I understand when people say please don't update until a stable version is released. That's fine for live sites. But for us testers we need to let it be know what bugs are there, what's broken, how far broken etc. Stable versions cannot exist until all the bugs are acknowledged and fixed. Since this is an extremely huge update that is taking months it isn't an easy fix for UNA developers to simply go over a couple lines of code to find the issues. People need to know if it's certain modules, custom work, new bugs etc when something is wrong. UNA needs more testers than just their team in order to release stable versions. When phases advance that create more bugs than the previous phase it does become a big issue. Timeline for UNA 13 was already released as were most of the basic packages so links in timeline posts should be working. Also yes mod developers don't need to update their mods until stable version is released but they also need to know at what phase does their modules stop working etc. Since these bugs also effect their mods they need to also pay close attention Since technically we are also letting the developers of the mods know when their mods fail. As shown in the ticket above, an update of the 'Currency code' setting was made by the UNA Team to add more choices. But only 4 currencies were added to the list of the default Currencies.
For those like me who wanted to add their new currency and get it displayed as a default system currency in Studio > Settings App > System > General > Currency code (for checkout system), should do as follows:
Please, go to Studio > Developer App > Forms > Data Items > System > Currency and 'Add a New Item' (new currency).
Example: If you would like to add the New Zealand dollar, please add:
Title Additional: (Leave this field empty)
Note: NZ$ is the symbol code of New Zealand dollar (NZD). It is advised to use the the html code for the currency symbol. Example: 'NZ$' (without the quote. i put the quote to get the html displayed here in this editor)
Then Go to the Polyglot App, create a new Key:
That's it. Your new currency will show in Studio > Seetings App > System > General > Currency code (for checkout system).
@LeonidS and @Anton L please correct me if this procedure of adding a new currency to the system is wrong or if it has any inconvenience. Thanks.
To add a new currency in Studio > Payments > Settings > General > Currency (To be used during the payment process),
Please, go to Studio > Developer > Forms > Data Items > Payments > Currencies
Hello, thanks a lot for a detailed information regarding the upcoming pre -configured solutions/packages built on UNA platform. I thought of two ideas but you already have them both on your list - 1) I may know of a Gas company, which should be testing UNA as a Corporate (Intranet) Network for their team collaboration and file sharing.
The most interesting on your list, however, is the #1. Even if, there are many PHP based LMS' (like Moodle, ILIAS, etc), UNA could be a neat alternative for those who are into corporate training business. Lastly, sorry for these messy thoughts/questions - is UNA an LTI enabled platform? How about supporting xAPI (TinCan)? Segment? Or may be it would be better to have integration with Concerto Platform, in future?
Sorry guys for my just 1 cent, in my opinion it is a bit to early for self-we-together-celebrating. I join and visit and pay my dime for every party at that special moment we have a FIRST STABLE RELEASE of UNA.
I was a commercial dolphin user (spended some 1000 dollars for testing, apps and customizations...) and will be a good UNA customer. I switched to UNA because I started with dolphin in JAN 2018 and saw the rapid developement of UNA. So there was no discussion about switching ... the facts using UNA are in another dimension of social comm. building...
Please concentrate on a FIRST STABLE RELEASE we can start with to build up the communities we like. Úntil this FIRST STABLE UNA is released, please skip all 'nice' things....
You are a small team of real pros AND helpful within every request. For that fact only you deserve all stars ever provided.....
So, my cent and - before I forget - thy again to all the bug busters (baloo, cem, chris...)
The idea of Spaces is very simple - this module enables you to 'nest' groups (in this case Spaces) one inside another. With multiple 'Child Spaces' able to be created within each 'Parent Space'. It is possible to have multiple 'Parent...
This module allows you to easily transfer content from Dolphin 7.2.x and upper versions to an UNA site. For supported migration you should consider an X1 Service Plan - please contact out support team for more details:...

I worked with Chris from Expertzkris team few times, I have nothing to say but the superb work he has done for me. I am an IT person, I know quality work when I see it. Chris exhibits great technical skills, he has done some custom work for me on my UNA site that I didn't expect it would be possible. And most importantly, he has been very patient with my questions and he takes time to explain to me how best ways we can implement new functionalities.. I've worked with Chris twice so far, now he is on top of my list - I am sure I will work with him again in near feature. Give this team at Expertzkris a chance, you will be very happy with the results :-)
That's the sum of all the timers from below, this module does not make the site slower. That table is misleading because it displays on top the first method that calls the full page. To know what is causing the slowning down you need to disable it and reload the same page to find the right method that causes that. In some versions video, audio and image transcoding is causing the slowing down. The latest version the UNA.io team improved this, if you have latest version then it might be another module who is transcoding images on the fly and not using the built in methods, if that's the case maybe the timer of such methods are not being registered by the profiler app.
Also we did refund the money to your paypal account for this and the other 4 modules because you stated you were quitting UNA.io, so please uninstall and delete all our 5 modules from your website or buy another license of the ones you need in case you are planning on keep using them.
Your server did run out of memory (RAM) when you did upload a big video in the other module and the field from the database didn't update from "processing" to "failed", that's why it was stuck. That's a system issue and has nothing to do with this Module. However it would be a good idea to report the issue to the UNA team to see if they can come up with a solution to avoid this from happening again when the system runs out of memory.
We fixed it in your server, please avoid uploading big videos in the other modules or upgrade your hosting (or switch to a VPS or Dedicated) if you are planning on uploading big videos using other modules. Right now it should be safe to upload short videos using this module only.
I've got a problem with my Paid Levels module configuration. My setting is as follows: I have a hierarchy of member levels Standard - Supporting - Expert members. Since we are an association, standard members will subscribe by a yearly subscribtion fee and level up to Supporting members (pic 1). To let them become expert members we'll use the Points System of AQB Soft.
Now to the problem: Only standard members should be able to subscribe and pay the yearly subscription fee, in order to level-up to supporting members. But it turned out that even expert members, on the higher member level can do so (pic 2), even when in the settings it's defined that only standard members are allowed to level up by subscription fee.
Please give us a hint on what to do to solve that.
just bought your Points System module today and experience the same problem like Ryan. The module does not level-up membership by defined points target.
Just to explain my setting: I have Standard members who can buy a yearly subscription, which will level them up to Supporting members. Those supporting members can become Expert members by gaining points which I'd like to realize with your Points System module. I did the entries in the picture and allocated the right amount of points to a supporting member, but it doesn't level up.
