    • OneSignal works via mobile browsers(web push notifications) and they use default sound for notifications from the phone, you may change it in smartphone settings, but you can not set unique sounds for notification from jot messenger. This ability is available only for mobile apps, but not for web push notifications.

      • Correct... do i need to download their app?

        • Hello!

Under app I mean mobile apps, but at present we have no mobile apps for iOS and Andriod, thus you may use only web app messenger on browsers for IOS and Andriod and etc..

Well, you may change only default sound file modules\boonex\messenger\data\notify.wav. It would be better to use .wav format, because it supports with most part of browsers.

          • Hello Geek Girl,

We are using OnSignal platform for push notifications in Jot messenger and there many abilities for customizations and integration it with UNA. It is hard to answer on any possible questions concerning integration or how to use OneSingal. One Signal has very good documentation here https://documentation.onesignal.com/docs/web-push-sdk

If you like us to answer on questions, can you please create separate theme for each questions or create list of questions in one, I'll try to answer as soon as it possible.

            • My push notification has never worked Alexey.

              Will there be any improvements?

              • Will, your push notification comes from the actual browser on your phone...

It will work when you allow for push notifications from the site.

Note: it will not work with an iPhone (on Safari)...that's just because Apple is Apple and it's on their end...I've had mixed results with Chrome on Iphone as I personally can't get it to send me a notification and haven't had anybody else be able to get them also...

If you're using Chrome or Firefox for your browsers the push notifications will work if you set up your OneSignal correctly...

                • Five for a change, I hear u bro, but on my mobile (FF) am I suppose to see a notification on the top of my phone and nouse? If so, my Galaxy does not inform me ziltch.

                  • More correct, it will not work with Safari :)

Once you install Chrome on iPhone it will do:)

                    • Yes, if you're using Chrome it will have a Chrome icon at the top. Also, gives you a notification in your notification bar on the actual screen.

I'm not 100% sure what the Firefox notification looks like at the top but it does the same thing also.

                      • Hi, for me on FF it will not give me notification at all. I think Alexey was going to fix the notification for FF. I don't know what's the status on it.

                        • Yeah, just recently switch to FF so haven't had any messages on it sense...

                          • Hello,

I am working on the new update, it contains fixes for some problems with standard sound beep notification when new message comes to the messenger. First part already available on github.

About push notification: Push notifications should work on FF browser on Android, I am testing them also and it is working. There were problems with sound when notifications came to device, but sound works ok now also.

Do you see any confirmation popups about getting notifications on messenger page when open FF browser in first time? Can you please try to remove existed notifications and try to open messenger page again and to allow notifications.

To clear the cache and remove push notifications you need to go to Settings -> Clear private data and select CacheSite Settings, Offline website data, Site settings and press clear the data, then close the browser and open it again and login, it should show you new confirmation message.

                            • I just setup the UNA site and my site on it. (aka I got a new phone and hadn't logged in to either site yet) and it works with the push notifications from both sites.

                              • Hello Five for a change and Alexey, did you guys clear the cache on desk top browser or mobile FF browser?

                                • Hi Will,

As far as I understand you have a problem with notifications on mobile device. So, you need to clean FF browser on your mobile device following steps from my description above.

                                  • True and will do

                                    • Will, yeah you have to follow Alexey's steps.
Sometimes, even if you allow for a site to send notifications, for some reason a permission gets stuck from all the previous stuff you've done.

I did the steps above a long time ago when Alexey suggested it and it fixed the problem!

                                        • I should note that indeed iOS still won’t support webpush, which is why we are now working on a native wrapper for iOS and Android. The GoNative build is available for Enterprise clients already, but it requires GoNative license and Push plugin. For wider adoption we may end up offering a Cordova-based build. Experimenting with this now.

                                          • Any update on this?

                                            • There is still only paid GoNative option for UNA to make mobile app with PUSH notifications support for iOS devices.

                                              • Anything new on this?
