Upgrade and Updates

I took thee plung, upgraded to 9.0.1 then----> 10.0.0-b1 then----> 10.0.0-b2 

So far what I have found:

will not allow me to update 'protean'

will not allow me to update 'discussions'

is this something that is resolved? or a local issue?
