      • We'll cnayl I don't know of other issues but Google login is working fine on my website and its been for a while.

Then regarding privacy, I know every user has the chance to set his or her profile to be available to himself alone or set to public for all to access or set to friends for only those connected if you desire.

        • Yes, UNA is early stages and mobile view looks good.

          • Yes. I really love it compared to dolphin. Still very satisfied just a few things to work out.

            • Dolphin was/is nice, but to me, mobile not very good. UNA to me good via mobile

              • It has been 10 years since I’ve been on dolphin, but I really did like it when I was on it. But yes, I really like UNA because of the mobile aspect. I had the generic BoonEx app for dolphin but there was not much you could do with it. Maybe that has changed in the past ten years.

                  • There are bugs and there are bugs! A bug that means part of any site built with UNA totally ignores a privacy setting makes the system worse than one that has no privacy at all, since people think they are "protected" but actually are not.  To me, sorting these issues first before adding more bells and whistles will convince people to use and stick with UNA as a platform.

                    • We have quite a few enterprise level sites that our team has serviced running with more than 10k members. Some with many more, close to 1 million. They are white labelled sites and covered by NDA's so we can share their details publicly. Some are new sites, with a good plan and viral growth, a couple are transitioning exisiting sites with large membership into UNA.
A lot of the feedback we have received testing these sites over the last 6 months has fed into the speed enhancements packaged in UNA 10. The good news is that UNA holds up well in large and active sites, although most sites will probably need some assistance with server configuration when they get to this scale.

                      • Hello Mark, you say 10k, a million, but what would be interesting to know is what server capacity?

                        • I had my site switched from Dolphin to UNA and had over 35,000 members but due to accumulating server fees and not having a way to make money on it I could never keep it up and running for more than a couple months at a time. The server I uses accumulates the server fee even if my website is suspended. I think once App development is steady at a nice price there will be plenty of members for everyone because advertising an App is easier than SEO of a regular website even if it's a mobile website. My dream is to have my website as an App but so far it seems like it's out of reach without spending a huge amount of money combined with server fees and maintenance fees. Until app development competition lowers prices my website will strain under monetary fees with no way to recoup the fees. Making money off an App is easy, it's the amount of money to make the actual app that's holding a lot of potential back.

                          • I launched mine in April on UNA - was using Slack before, have 1600 members today, engagement is still something I need to solve but slowly improving.

                            • Hello Mark, you say 10k, a million, but what would be interesting to know is what server capacity?

Server capacity is not really governed by member numbers but more by member activity. How active are the members and what sort of content are they posting? A video site is obviously more server intensive that a discussion site like UNA.IO. As a site scales, remote storage is always an option to maintain site performance to keep down costs.

I'm no expert in this area, but I'd say that any site with much more that 20,000 members is probably going to need some professional consultation from a skilled technician such as Alex T.
Baloo have you seen this article?

                              • I am curious to know why a site of this size is struggling. Is it not monetized? If not, Why is it not? What is the problem?

                                • I was wondering the same thing. 35K? It actually discourages me a little and makes me reevaluate what I am doing. I would think with that much membership there should generate enough traffic to make money off of it.

                                  • Making money from the site is not easy regardless if member numbers. The big SNs are free so we would have a hard time monetizing a small network.

We need to find the niche and build the services the people will pay for.

                                    Difficult.
