Pods/Hubs

Can you create a social network that has thousands of people but also let people decide what content they're comfortable seeing without being exploited like Facebook? One of Facebooks weakest elements is that it pushes people to see and join content that is extremely harmful or allows the user to feel exploited or deal with people they shouldn't have to. What is the concept of Pods/Hubs? Well we eventually have to start thinking about new concepts that differ from Facebook. Pods/Hubs would be a whole new structure that could be added to existing social networks or be the foundation of new ones. A Pod or Hub can be created by 1 to however many users admin decides. Maybe it's only Friends or Family members. Sounds almost like Spaces except eventually you would still be seeing content that is outside of that space. What if you only wanted to interact with people, places, and things near you? So you set your location and Bam there's  Hub right in your area to join. What's in the Hub? People near you, music, restraunts, content creators, everything that has set their location in your radius. This would be your "Near Me" Hub. All the content from groups, events, people etc that you would see on your timeline that set their location within a certain radius would be under this Hub. Great for seeing content near you without the extra disconnect of random people not from your location or outside media/content interference. All content under this Hub would be dictated by the location indicator and if the content provider moved or wanted to change location they would have to change their location wich would also change their content location thus would be moved into another "Near Me" Hub. Admin could decide how many times per week/month/year they can do this. Maybe you just want to see all content and people related to a subject without getting drowned by content that you aren't interested in. This is where Channels and Hashtags comes in. Your timeline and content you see would only include preset content that had a specific hashtag/channel. You could join a Hub that only had content with the hashtag Sports. You would be immersed in a whole new timeline filled with all sports related content. While this Hub/Pods option won't be acceptable by everyone, I do believe that a certain population of people might actually enjoy it.
