Compatibility with WordPress plugins

Just a thought, but imagine we could use Wordpress plugins with UNA !!!
I found this https://wordpress.org/plugins/tablepress/
Since Wordpress has the largest library of plugins, why not use it?

    • Like we use Wine in Linux for install windows' software.

This is a very good idea Pethol

      • I never tried to be drunk on wine and install windows software. Sounds intriguing though. But today is a big happy day here in Cambodia. I have to go celebrate with the guys from the department. Awesomeness just happened.

        • Hello everybody!

First of all, we're not going to use the Wordpress plugins in our UNA. Because it would be much easy to make a plugin "like those for WP" than to adopt the existing code, which was made for another system and then track the changes of this plugin. How many modules / apps you know which work fine in 2 different PHP frameworks - the things which have less critical points like external view etc?

          • 😅 😅

You understood me wrong. Wine is the name of software for Linux.

here is the website of WINE - https://www.winehq.org/

            • There is a good thing that UNA is cleaner and safer than Wordpress and UNA will compatible with Wordpress plugin it may not safe.

              • Thing is, that external systems have the plugins available that I need to build a functional site. But if me, myself and I build a bridge between UNA and wp-plugins, I guess it's my own business...
It would then also be my own business to let the bridge-module be available for free on my own site.
Safe? Sure it is safe. Wordpress is not done by beginners. There is a reason why they are big. If it wasn't safe, it would not be as big as it is.
But this actually made me smile a little bit. I can see now why UNA is not bigger. It's not about skill. It's about priorities. Not my problem though.

                • I know about Wine, but it isn't a good example for Web-based software :-)

                  • Someone is holding back UNA by sending UNA in the wrong direction. But - not my problem...

                      • It’s very rare for a platform to make itself compatible with another platform’s plugins. Interesting idea though. If there was a base platform as nice as UNA, but that could be extended using WordPress’ plugins, that might be popular. Then again, at that point, why not use WordPress?

                        • Billy:

Because UNA has unique features which makes it very attractive to work with. The only thing about UNA is that she is difficult to work with. If you look at WordPress coding, it is very very well documented in the comments. That is part of good quality coding.
What WordPress offers is - BuddyPress... I tried it... I didn't like it. UNA in comparison is like a fine Portuguese wine in front of a fireplace with a high-class call-girl. Buddy Press is more like the homebrewed beer of the hillbilly fishing party. I could go on, but I think you get the idea.
Any high-class call-girl needs accessories, But UNA does not have those. Wordpress have high quality accessories their hillbilly girls get to wear...
Combine Beauty with beauty and you get something like an Amazon Goddess...
