Hosting Service for UNA Site

Who is using a hosting service other than UNA Cloud hosting that is able to support the requirements of an UNA site and has CPanel access? I am currently using UNA Cloud 4 with the following server details?

4GB RAM
2CPU Cores
80GB SSD Storage
4TB Transfer

It is not working out well for me not having access to CPanel. In addition to needing access to maintain my UNA site, I want to set up some subdomains but can not do that without purchasing a separate hosting plan.

If anyone can give me suggestions for hosting & cost with comparable server details that will meet UNA requirements and has a good history of working with an UNA site, it would much be appreciated.

if not, I may consider selling my site. Not even sure how I would go about that. I have put a lot of money and time into it.

    • You can use Linode directly (we use Linode paired with our orchestration system that installs UNA and enables Pro license). Just make sure to also buy backups from them. cPanel or Plesk you can install separately. Alternatively, TMDhosting is offering servers with cPanel for UNA.

      • I personally pay for an unmanaged dedicated custom server. I pay around 80 for my server and 45 for my darn dedicated Cpanel account, but loads cheaper then going through a managed host. If you have the knowledge and do not mind learning I would recommend doing it that way for cost effectiveness. I am running Raid 5, so why I required 3 drives. I can always add more drives as I needed which leaves me some flexibility for the future. Once I got through all the kinks and adding the apache modules I needed, messing with PHP and PHP FPM it wasnt so bad to see the final product of the work.

        • Andrew Boon is right about TMD. I currently use it for some sites, I use other hosts for other sites I manage. Take note of this, while TMD does support installation via Installatron and offer it as well as give you access to CPanel, SSH, FTP, and PhpMyAdmin (for database administration/creation etc), unless you pay the big money per month and get a VPS or Dedicated Server package, you will not be able to install some of the requirements needed to enjoy all of UNA. You cannot install node.js so that stops you from using Messenger since you cannot install Jot Server. UNA runs on a Business Cloud package but not fully functional.

Keep these in mind before you switch. Oh...and don't even waste your time trying out Godaddy.

          • Also, if you have an established company, try calling Amazon or GCP and ask for startup credits - it is often easy to get up to 5-10K worth of credit for year from them and setup on their cloud. GCP gives first $500 no questions asked.

With Linode or DigitalOcean you can start with a $20 server and it'll work just fine for UNA.

            • Thank you for the info sir!

                • Hi Andrew Boon

Is it really not possible to provide a backdoor for Cloud users. I do very much like having my platform built on cloud as you simply can design better looking sites fast and ship changes far quicker. But we are moving to the point where we need access for more advanced mods.

                  • UNA Cloud will be the top prio focus for us going forward. This means more tools and settings that help to make changes that otherwise require access to files and SSH. Yet, direct way to modify file is not something we think we should be giving in UNA Cloud anytime soon, simply because of support overhead it may cause.

                    • I have a VPS on TMD. Have used them for many years.   Completely happy with them. Dolphin was hosted with them also. No issues with both dolphin or UNA.

                      • Hi, I am looking for alternatives, if possible with docker and stagging  capabilities, how about ...
