Negative Conversations

First of all, why isn't there a bug category since UNA is full of bugs?

Now on to the party, how can I have negative conversations?  Are they perhaps conversations I am going to have in the future?

    • It may be conversations you have had and posted here but have been removed. I think there may be a few of those! 😬

      • Well, there is a "Troubleshooting" category, a small percentage of the problems reported in this category are actually bugs. For it to be declared a "bug" it is necessary that the problem can be reproduced on a "clean" version and that only the technicians of UNA Team can do it. If it really is a bug, then a ticket is opened and a fix is quickly published. You can see them here. As you can see, there are few, these are minor issues and the fix is available for whoever wants to apply it right away. So when you say, "UNA is full of bugs" you are giving things a misnomer as they really are, I think, and I don't know how it could be done better.
        Most of the little issues like the one you are having with notification -1 are difficult to reproduce, I have never encountered this on my installation, so try to give the specific conditions they occur under if you can, this would help a lot. But I appreciated your complaint in your post, it made me laugh :-)

          This appears on my website.  If a conversation is removed, then the counter for conversations should adjust.  If it doesn't, then it is clearly a bug.

          • Baloo , this isn't about troubleshooting, it is about a bug in the code.  I should be able to clearly mark the post as being about a bug.  Also, I am entitled to my opinions just as you are so if I want to say UNA is full of bugs, I will.  And this is one of them.  MMMM, in mathematics we have imaginary numbers; perhaps these are imaginary conversations.

            • Hello Will Monte
              Yes, it looks like a bug but could you please describe step by step how we can reproduce it.
              After that we would be able to fix it. Thanks.

                Ok, give me till tomorrow, i'm tired.

                • To be honest, I really don't know what occurred.  I tested today and the best I can conclude is that somewhere the counter got off by 1; a subtraction of a read post pushed it to negative when the counter was at zero.  I noticed that as I added conversations and then read them the counter went from -1 to 0, then 1; however, it was always off by 1.  I guess a quick fix would be to just prevent the counter from going negative.  How can I reset the counter so that it is the proper value?

                  • It happened again and I think I know what caused it.  I deleted a comment in a conversation and the negative value showed up.  To test, I went to another conversation and made a new comment.  I then deleted that new comment, and a negative value showed up.

                      Hello. Unfortunately I cannot reproduce on fresh installed ci.una.io demo site. I did the following:
                      1. User1 created a Discussion. He will receive notifications and watch for counters.
                      2. User2 posts a comment -> User1 got (1) in notifications counter.
                      3. User2 removes the comment -> counter disappeared on User1 side. There is no Zero value here.
                      4. User2 posts 2 comments -> User1 got (2) and viewed the notifications to hide counter -> User2 posts one more comment -> User1 got (1) -> User2 removed 2 comments one by one between 2 nearest Live Updates on User1 side -> counter disappeared on User1 side. There is no Zero and Negative values here again.

                        Hi, it's not the discussion module, it's the conversation module.
