Messenger hard to navigate

While testing with my friend side by side I got frustrated because you have to type the friends name you want to message then click on the little checkmark circle before you can message them. It was frustrating and I and my friend thought it was a bug because he couldn't message me. I believe it's like this because of an update for group messaging but it's pretty frustrating that you can no longer just go to someone's profile click chat or message and go directly into a chat with them. I think that if you go to someone's profile and press send message that it should automatically start a chat with the person. At least have their name already in the "Type name here..." part
